Rusty Mansell on twitter reported Kirby is in Georgia today. I wonder if he is signing his contract, but we can not announce until later?

Also if he is HC I hope they keep Pruitt.

I'm not a tinfoil hat guy, but bama is playign in the SECCG in 4 days, so for him to be in Georgia for ANY reason at all is at least a little funky, right?

They're playing Florida. Kirby can take a day or two off

I get that, but is it commonplace for the DC of a team playing the CCG in a few days to be out of state recruiting?

I seriously doubt he's on the road for them right now

Well, not sure what he has shared with Saban and what Jimmy has told Saban, but I assume he would pull him off the road if he knew this was happening.

I think at this point we can safely assume Kirby or possibly somebody better is our next HC minus some major, catastrophic AD fail that would be the thing of legends. Surely to God the powers that be aren't that incompetent....

The big question is who will be our OC and DC?

No record of a plane even close to Tuscaloosa coming or going....don't think he has the time to make that drive there and back with practice going on.....

Practices don't occur until about 3 in the afternoon due to class schedules. Plenty of time to come to GA in the morning and to get back before then. Plus, Bama isn't going to lend him the jet to go find another job and I doubt UGA is going to fly a candidate in.

There's been nothing reported on Flight Tracker that would indicate Smart's arrival to Athens.

They probably fly 2-3 people/week to Athens or ATL for interview of some sort or another - faculty & admin positions. Not on a private jet/charter, of course.

Probably wouldn't come out to Athens if they were interviewing; likely at a place in or around Atlanta

What I meant. They may pay for a plane ticket but they're not sending the private jet. Maybe a town car, though.

Kirby will fly coach from Birmingham to Greenville. He will check into the Starlight Inn in Hartwell under the name "Joey Stalewater" and McGarity will drive up in a white Ford Focus and honk 3 times.
