I guess this is why jury duty is mandatory by threat of jail time. Nobody wants any part of this shite, real or fake. Doesn't matter though. Two of our jurors are refusing to vote for the death penalty, so Montgomery Goldmundo Rodriguez will get life in prison instead of death in this fake scenario.

His name in real life though was Daniel Lopez.

And he was executed on August 12, 2015 by lethal injection for the exact scenario that I described.

It took 15 minutes after the injection for his heart to stop beating. His last words were an apology to the family of the officer that was killed. And then "May we all go to heaven. I am ready."

This guy will be released in 11/14/2139 (just in time for Thanksgiving)

Think of all the cash that could be saved in all that time on a simple jolt of electricity.

Doesn't work that way. The economics are definitely not on your side of the argument.

With the extra trial and all of the appeals and everything else, it costs the taxpayers MILLIONS (plural) of dollars just to execute one single criminal.

Life in prison with trial and housing and all the "perks" etc costs about a quarter of what it costs to execute someone.

Valuing cash over human life is the trait of some conservatives that gives liberals the most ammunition.

CheeseGrits, Are you getting paid social security? If so, are you aware that the money you're getting paid is generated by a crooked evil Ponzi scheme that makes the one you want Bernie Maddof killed for look like child's play??

What's almost crazier is that you want the people running this evil scheme to be the ones to kill Maddof. Aint that some shite.

That's the problem with our whole system. We created a system to try and protect us from crooks, but now that system is the biggest crook. And we have no possible way to protect ourselves from the crook we created. In short, we're doomed. THis sucks.

I blame Reagan

Pete DuPont wanted us out of the social security system back in the 80's and could not get past the first primary when all the old farts at the time voted for one of their own.governments should work for people but now people work for governments. Founding fathers would be rolling around in their graves.

R blames D
D blames R

All the the time they are both picking our pockets clean. Middle class needs to rise up and take back the Republic.

Sorry...on business trip and have been in meetings.

I do NOT vote for the death penalty in this case. Life is good enough.

No. You're in. The point has already been made though, I thought.

The scenario proposed to the fake e-jury was based on a REAL scenario. And yet......the hardliner badasses who froth at the opportunity to KILL, and giggle at references about "ole sparky".........all voted to spare this man's life.

A pretty successful experiment if i do say so myself. (whether understood/appreciated)

I do not froth at the kill, just the guy had a low body count and was in doubt if accident or intentional.

I think a lot of death penalty frothers like yourself are likewise under the false impression that all people on death row are mass-murdering serial killers.

For instance, they executed a kid recently in ohio that didn't even kill anyone. A robbery went south and another kid got killed. The one that did the stabbing got life in prison on a plea bargain, and the other one got the death injection.

This is what happens when you let the people that run the DMV run the pale green cinder block KILL ROOM.

Stop trying to think then.

My position is plain, if many on death row were on my jury cycle they would not be getting the final shock but when a chick kills her parents and brother in cold blood in their sleep, chances are good they are beyond redemption and need to be recycled.
