One more reason for me to fricking abhor Philadelphia and its athletics teams. I may deck a Phillies fan in April if Grantham leaves and, thereby, fricks this recruiting class up

I'm fine with guy staying through signing Day...after that I could care less if he sticks around.

Get the '13 kids to put pen to paper, and IDGAF afterwards. Very disappointed in the D at times, and kinda glad to close that chapter.

I agree. We at least need him to stay through feb. 6th. After that if he decides to leave it would be less devastating. Don't get me wrong. I think CTG is a good coach and would hate to lose his intensity, but ultimately I think his style of defense is better suited for the pros.

However, he did not share the tweet. Thus, if CTG leaves, he can say: "obviously that guy was wrong."

Honestly this surprises me. Grantham seems to be a good hard-nosed kind of a coach but still learning his trade. I would think any NFL team would want a proven DC which is not CTG, yet. I want to see what he can do with a new set of recruits before I'm convinced that he's a proven winner. We had a ton of talent on our defense this season that seemed to under achieve.

Just read on Pro Football Talk that Grantham and Kirby Smart have been interviewed for Eagles DC Position by Chip Kelly

Now I can see a pro team being interested in Smart; he is a proven winning DC at the best college football program in the nation.

Unless it was a phone interview, Grantham hasn't interviewed. He was driving all over Georgia today on the recruiting trail.

And, for what it's worth, Smart was a Safeties coach for the Dolphins under Saban so he does have SOME NFL experience.

The Tide fans seem to think Kirby is headed to Philly.

Why all the fricking secrecy about the hiring? I don't get it? Why don't they just make the whole situation public? It would be a much bigger blow to UGA to lose Grantham, then Smart leaving at Bama. We all know that Saban is the mastermind behind the defense...but if Grantham leaves we will not only lose recruits, but who would we get? 4 teams have hired new defensive staffs....the cupboard is bare.

Grantham isn't talking to the press, but he appears to be talking with recruits who are talking to the press.

How is this a fricking game

The first thing McGarrity established with Richt when he rolled in is the entire staff being forbidden to discuss practically ANYTHING with the media. And it was long overdue

CTG is simply trying to reassure a recruit amid a shite ton of speculation. Wtf is the problem
