Just to put things in another perspective

Let's say Mark Richt was kept and given two more years. You guys do realize that half of his coaching staff was about to get fired or forced out for no particular reason? Jeremy Pruitt was doing very well all things considered, but he and the guys that he brought on to UGA that season were all about to be forced out by the UGA higher ups. The main reason for it was not going to be due to performance, it was because the UGA higher ups hated Pruitt.
So when we talk about wanting to keep Richt, we have to keep the perspective that he was going to have to hire yet ANOTHER DC (because of the UGA higher ups meddling) and probably another OC, the third in both cases in a short time period.
The offensive line and secondary are likely even worse, because someone worse than Catalina is starting on the OL and you're stuck with Briscoe starting in the secondary (this team SHOULDN'T be in a short time period). Lambert likely still starts and continues to be just below average at best. And Isaac Nauta is lost to another school in this case.
The only outcome that is really changed much is Nicholls, it's a blowout instead of a close win. The Ole Miss game is lost by 24 instead of 31 in this hypothetical world.
