just because SOS has always been on the other side doesn't mean he's not a great HC and worthy of admiration

Nobody has ever questioned his HC abilities. One of the 5 or 6 best in SEC history for sure.

I just don't intertwine respect and admiration. Of course I can respect the job he did and what he's accomplished as a coach, that's pretty obvious. But I in no way, shape, or form "like" the guy or admire him in any way. Starting with that '66 loss to us the man has made it his personal lifelong vendetta to do whatever he could to hurt UGA. Be it as a coach, a mouthpiece, recruiter, whatever. I just don't see any reason any UGA fan would ever like the guy.

You seem to lack the intelligence to understand the reasons that anyone doesn't agree with your line of thinking. That's why people avoid you "IRL".

Actually he kinda has a point, Spurrier has made it his goal to hurt Georgia in any way shape or form, the florida and Duke days were probably his best . Imo honestly i dont think he did that great at SC, then again he turned SC around as a program i guess you can say. Of Course you can bring up the fact that he beat #1 Alabama and took SC to 11 win season in all standards is impressive, but how he left the team out to dry when he left, his constant disrespect to UGA is why i dislike him

He did fantastic here. I don't understand why you would say he didn't do that great. Sure, compared to the prestige of programs like Bama, LSU, or even Georgia he didn't do that great. But for a program that had won 4 bowl games in its history, never won in the Swamp or Kneeland, never won the East, only ever won 10 games ONCE..

You get my point, but you alluded to that in your edit also.

Great for us, not as impressive to the Big 6 teams

I can admire and respect a coach or player from another program. Just takes a little intelligence. Even Patton admired and respected Rommel. Just because someone's on the other side doesn't mean they can't be held in esteem. I admire players like Micheal Jordan, Joe Montana, Wayne Gretzky, Ozzie Smith, etc., in spite of the fact that they rivaled my teams. Dean Smith, John Wooden, Joe Torre, Bear Bryant, Steve Spurrier, Nick Saban, etc. are coaches that I respect and admire.

If I were starting a college football program and could hire any HC in their prime, SOS would be my choice. Dude was a great player and obviously a great HC. Just because he played for a rival program doesn't negate the facts.

I admire him and I like his personality, and wish he'd chosen UGA back in the 60's rather than UF.
