The simple fact that our mutual hatred vs Spurrier carried over to his next SEC gig is Exhibit A in the case for the Gators being our biggest rival, not Tech.

Any fan base who dresses beautiful little 5-10 year old girls up in ugly red shirts that read "I Love The Cocks" has problems....
Of course in one little community in North Augusta some South Carolinans actually LOVE...in the biblical sense...those same little girls...and no one does a thing in the world about it....

South Carolina fans just hate us so bad, and all they want is our hate in return. I just can't give it though. They're too amusing. Oh, and their team isn't relevant enough to earn much either.

Are you kidding. I love SOS. He's a large part of the reason that the SEC is what it is today. I only wish that he'd coached at UGA. We would have celebrated many more NCs than we have and life would have been much more entertaining. You haven't lived until you've listened to a 30 minute SOS call in show on the radio. They guys a genius and funny as hell. There will never be another Steve Spurrier.

There's no debate that he's a great coach and I'll never deny that. The part I bristle at is the "funny as hell" description. Is he really that clever and funny?
I mean I enjoy that he would give non coach speak answers but people act like he was Richard Pryor doing stand up comedy. Making coloring book jokes about Auburn or UGA suspension jokes are chuckle worthy, but his humor has always been way overblown.

His little one liners were pretty damn funny sometimes. Calling FSU "Free Shoes University" or saying "can't spell citrus without UT" were great lines.

Yeah, that was kind of implied when i said hate had to be earned then went on to emphasize how much I hated the old head ball giver and not USCe.

I've always called you crazy but just because SOS has always been on the other side doesn't mean he's not a great HC and worthy of admiration. Goff and Donnan were our guys but I'm not enamored with their collective bodies of work, nor their wit.
There's not a word that comes out of SOS's mouth that's not meant to serve a purpose. The guy's a tactician and I wish like hell he'd been here after his run at UF rather than USCe.
He likes revenge vs UGA because we ruined his Heisman Trophy season. He's a competitor. I get that.
