Burning effigies and photo-shopped decapitations are legal but classless and don't accomplish anything (for either side engaging in that sort of thing). They are condoning and possibly encouraging actual violence, whether intentional or not.

I think the issue is when celebrities, recognized voices and media types openly condone "resistance" then it becomes a problem as it lends a certain amount of credibility to violence. We saw this play out with the BLM movement and people chanting about killing cops.

Nobody listens to the KKK or skinheads as everyone knows they're idiots. For the most part original Tea Party members are too loyal to the Constitution to get violent -and God knows there were cameras all over them just looking for an incident. These militants leftists though have been stirring up violence since the 60's - and it's pretty obvious they're much more belligerent and violent than conservative republicans.

Sure, both sides have their fringe nut cases. I can point to literally thousands of twitter posts calling for the assassination of Trump. I can point to fringe, unhinged people talking about Trump.

Past Nugent you will be hard pressed to come up with conservative celebrities calling for assassination or violence against Obama or any other President. Crap, we see Maxine waters getting on TV and calling for impeachment, then when a CNN guy calls her on it, she admits there is not basis for it.

Except Kathy griffin's little stunt wasn't photoshopped. She had a mock head up professionally and a professional photographer come in to take pictures. Then at her infamous "apology" she blamed Trump, ("He broke me!") and proceeded to call him some pretty nasty names....some apology.
