Yeah that was karma for the no call on Roddy. That was the first thing I put on Twitter after that play

Totally agree.

But it really was holding and PI. I'm glad about the no-call because it was karma they got screwed, but it doesn't change the fact the officiating in the NFL is horrible.

I love how the commentator was saying on the multiple replays that it was a good no-call while it was overwhelmingly clear the DB had a fist full of Crabtree's jersey.

Hard to tell if the ball was catchable in bounds. Englebert humpernick was about to get killed when he let the ball go but it was close. Would have taken a great catch and tap tap to get two feet in the ball was out of bounds

Had something to do with Crabtree pushing off of the DB by the helmet. He was literally pushing his face away from the play

Because the DB had 2 fists full of jersey. Just sayin.

I'm glad it happened to SF after they got away with it on Roddy vs us. Karma is a bitch.

When they showed Crabtree on the sidelines without his helmet I thought it was Buckwheat. He should have been penalized for not getting a haircut

"No, Gerry Dorsey! I like Gerry Dorsey!"

"No, we can't, who we got? Zingelbert Bembledack, Tringelbert Wangledack, Slut Bunwalla, Klingybun Fistelvase, Dindlebert Zindledack, Gerry Dorsey, Engelbert Humptyback, Zengelbert Bingledack, Engelbert Humperdinck, Vingelbert Wingledanck –"

"No, no, go back one!"

(That may be a little highbrow for this crowd...)

The DB was holding the jersey. It was holding on the defense and a bad missed call at a crucial point in the game...

It was holding and pass interference. But it was also pass interference on Roddy and we didn't get the call, if we had got that call the 49ers would not have even been in the SB, so like the others guys have said. karma is a bitch.

The ball would not have been caught in bounds, regardless of the call. If you pay attention to Crabtree's stride length as he is running and where the ball actually comes down, he could not have gotten both feet down given his momentum and stride.

PI is not the issue. There was very clear defensive holding.

....and if Karma was a true bitch, Alabama would have gotten 20 holding calls and lost to ND....

I posted a gif of the holds from the atl game and the superbowl on the MSB and they are both just terrible. Only difference to me is that the ball might have been ruled uncatchable nd should have been holding, and the no call against Roddy was straight up DPI.

It was a good no call because Crabtree ran right at the DB almost as if to block him. Crabtree initiated the hands contact. Not the other way around.

What is the DB supposed to do? Get out of his way?

What is the official supposed to do? Throw the flag at whomever releases their hands last?

By the time Crabtree was by the DB, Smith had already released him.

Good no call.

Negative... You grab jersey and it does not matter...

90% of the blocks in football have a fist full of jersey. The refs call them based on where they grab and when they let go.

Bad example... This was a wr attempting to disengage...

perfect example. it's often the offensive guy that initiates the hands. the refs don't call defensive holding when the contact is mutual.

And by the time Crabtree was by him, there were no hands on him (otherwise, there would have been a holding call).
