I have enjoyed Mike Griffin's segments with Pruitt more then anything else they've done this year.

If I remember correctly, when Kirby was hired, it was said that Pruitt had to go, but I can't remember is why. So, I was surprised to see him on Dawgnation this year. Is/was there ever any bad blood between Pruitt and Kirby?

If there were I'd hope they have patched things up. I would love to see Pruitt put on the payroll as an analyst or something if for no other reason then to keep him from going back to Bama.

I have a lot of respect for Pruitt. He started elevating the program before Kirby arrived.

Maybe.

He coached like shite in Athens, though.

I feel like he did well. Our DBs made an immediate improvement from Grantham, but I guess that's a low bar lol

I think he clashed with Richt's too laid back approach and couldn't understand why he wouldn't get so upset after a lose.

The a significant understatement to what actually happened.

I believe his two best friends were Jim Beam and Jack Daniels.

Yeah. He pulled a T-Root and challenged Richt to meet him down at the Waffle House after a game...

Recruiting did improve significantly but not sure if he was the cause.

Bama fans are convinced he's their savoir if/when he comes back as DC
LINKand many still think he's a better DC than Kirby.

Pruitt wasnt going to be ok sitting down, shutting up, and doing as he was told by Kirby; he would have kept on with the same schtick as under Richt and Kirby didn’t want/need that in his early tenure (plus, McGarity wanted Pruitt gone ASAP)

Not sure why you think this is funny. Pruitt was an excellent DC at ever stop in his path, from FSU to Alabama. He certainly was the lone bright spot, as a coordinator, for us during his tenure here.

IF Kirby thought it wise to bring him in as DC at some point, I'd certainly be excited.

For Alabama, he would definitely be an upgrade.

I think Kirby wanted him, but Pruitt had stirred up the old guard too much and the wine and cheese crowd wanted him gone.

I give Pruitt credit for getting the ball rolling on the indoor practice facility.

I have enjoyed listening to him on that you tube show.

Don't know details concerning his departure from Athens but he comes across, to me anyway, as a guy that gears in pretty well.

This is the most likely truth of it all.

He allowed 35 points to Justin Worley and 38 points to Joshua Dobbs.
He allowed 38 points and 27 points to Treon Harris with no passing game..
He allowed 31 points to Patrick towles.
He allowed 30 points to Justin Thomas.
And that doesn't include Jake Coker and alabama.

His recruiting class in 2015 was good. But he was best known for for finding low ranked DBs and coaching them up to a decent level (i.e. the DB deficiency in 2016 and 2017 was a result of Pruitt's signing classes. But they were "good enough" for 13 wins in 2017.

Pruitt did a pretty good job as DC here after 3rd and Grantham, but as others said he seems to be toxic. We could use help coaching up and developing db's but hard pass.

Grantham was a better DC here.

In fact, every single one of you was sucking his dick in 2012, but then 8 of 11 starters went to the NFL from that team and Grantham had to break in a lot of new talent in 2013, took some lumps, and everyone turned on him.

Grantham never subbed.
He wanted to chase stats (shutouts and per game totals).

It came back to bite him in 2013 when he had a bunch of kids with no experience.

Pruitt really wasn't a good DC.
He coached the hell out of some 3 star DBs. But he choked over and over and over again. And it wasn't personnel. He got outcoached.
