He'll be back. Willis McGahee made it back after something similar. That's no guarantee for anyone, but I damn sure wouldn't bet against a man like Nick Chubb.

His football career isn't over.
Why do people in 2015 still listen to bleacher report?

The source for the BR article has never examined Chubb. Bleacher Report is a site that I avoid like the plague.

The last information I saw on this were Richt's statements a day or two ago:
"All rehab is tough, but the best news is that there was no damage to a nerve or anything vascular, like an artery," Richt said. "That was the best news of all, and of course the ACL not being damaged was great as well."
I assume that Richt had received a briefing on Chubb's medical condition or talked to the parents.

I doubt he'll suit up in a UGA uniform again, but he'll get a shot at the next level in 2017

I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in Athens in 2017. That doesn't make it so, but guys with his work ethic stick around sometimes.

My daughter has had 4 ACL tears from soccer and I can tell you that despite what an MRI shows they will not know the full extent of the damage until they are in the knee and able to look around.

I'm with ya man, I hate Tennessee, they have by far the most annoying fans.
I can assure you, we haven't seen the last of Nick Chubb.

Is there a way to donate money to Chubb or his family? I feel like if Chubb career does end b/c of this, enough Dawg fans (I'm sure others as well) could donate and help fund him while he decides on different career path. B/c we all know Chubb would of been another UGA great who went on to do great things in the NFL.
I hope he can come back at as close to 100% as he can for the NFL. With an injury that bad, there is no reason to rush it and risk any set back. He should be done at UGA and just work on the NFL. I would feel even worse as a dawg fan if Chubb came back only to hurt his knee again for next year.

I hate tennessee too. Just listen to the tennessee cheering intensify once the crowd sensed Chubb was truly injured and might not return to the game.
Sort of reminds me why I hate auburn too - ever since Nov. 2010.

Chubb will remain on scholarship and all medical and rehab bills will be covered by the university. His families expenses to be with him as needed will also be covered. He will possibly recover and play in 2016 or 2017. He will then likely be a 1st or 2nd round draft choice.

If he doesn't play football ever again, he makes $5M. Don't think I'm worried about donating to him, especially since the school covers all of his medical expenses and rehab.

His career isn’t over. For crying out loud, they haven’t even opened up his knee and people are already writing him off. BR is as bad of a source as it gets. One could argue wikipedia is on it’s level.
Chubb does not have nerve damage. His ACL is fine. It looked horrendous, but it’s not a Marcus Latimore injury. He’ll be back next year

No way, he'll be back!
Chubb is a tough arse kid. We'll find that sniper from Newland Stadium one day

What would the difference be as to the situations of Gurley and Chubb? Of course Gurley was able to continue with his football career. Here's an article on Gurley offering encouragement to Chubb. LINK

I don't think Chubb's career is over. But whether his UGA career is over, that's a different story. He's probably done enough already to warrant a 1st round pick in 2017 if he simply rehabs and gets himself back into the groove over the next 18 months.
If he can get there by working out for some teams and going to the combine in February '17, why he would risk playing more college ball?

I didn't necessarily mean "football career". Poor title. Should have read as: "Will Chubb ever play at UGA again?" God bless the kid. From all accounts and people who know him personally, he really is a good kid and I wish him nothing but the best.

I think only Jr. and seniors that are projected to be drafted can obtain injury insurance. Chubb was not a draftable prospect therefor he had no insurance like Latimore. Chubb will only leave with a degree if he does not make a return.
