If we don't make the playoffs, a UGA/MIA game would make for an intriguing game for people to watch/talk about. That's what the bowl people and TV people would love. That said, it is looking like Miami is at least the second best team in the ACC, and I think they have a tie in with the Orange Bowl, and the loser of the SECCG will probably be in the tie in for the SEC, which would be the Outback (I think?) since the Sugar Bowl is part of the playoff. The Chick-Fil-A gets two at large, but I am not sure which bowl chooses first.

After the playoffs, you have the 4 major bowls(Fiesta, Cotton, Orange, Peach). They get first pick. Fiesta, Cotton, and Peach can take anyone/group of 5. Orange takes the next best ACC team or Notre Dame vs at large thats not group of 5.

Lets say Alabama, Clemson, Washington, and Penn State get the 4 playoff spots. That would leave the group of 5 team(San Diego State), Pac 12 teams(Washington State/USC), TCU/Oklahoma, Georgia/Auburn, and Ohio State/Wisconsin, and Notre Dame/Miami next spots.

Fiesta-USC/Washington State vs San Diego State
Cotton-TCU/Oklahoma vs
Orange-Notre Dame/Miami/Virginia Tech vs
Peach-Georgia/Alabama vs

So you have west coast teams going to the Fiesta. The Cotton is going to take the top Big 12 team left, Orange has to take ACC/Notre Dame, and the Peach will assuredly take Georgia or Auburn if they are there.

Lets say Notre Dame gets the Orange Bowl because of name. You can almost bet they are going to match Ohio State with them for the big matchup. Cotton can take the traditional matchup and take a SEC team(Auburn) if Oklahoma is not the team(dont want rematch). That would leave the Peach with the option of Miami, Oklahoma, Pac 12 team, and Wisconsin. Well, Wisconsin has an easy road to the Big 10 Championship game, so as a possible 1 loss team, I think they would take them.

Fiesta-San Diego State vs USC
Cotton-TCU vs Auburn
Orange-Notre Dame vs Ohio State
Peach-Georgia vs Wisconsin

That leaves Miami out. They would get the next selection in the ACC, and thats the Camping World Bowl in Orlando.

Now things could change if South Florida gets the group of 5 game. They would be locked into the Peach Bowl.

Fiesta-USC vs Wisconsin
Cotton-TCU vs Auburn
Orange-Notre Dame vs Ohio State
Peach-Georgia vs South Florida

Right now, I dont see Miami heading to a big bowl, especially since Notre Dame can take their spot in the Orange.

NC State is good enough to upset Clemson later this year and make the ACCCG from that side of the division

Regarding Notre Dame:

First and foremost, I'm full on Kool-aid mode...

but..but...lets say hypothetically we run the table and beat Auburn, but then lose to Auburn in the SEC Championship.

Lets also say Notre Dame goes full beast mode for the rest of the season, and starts blowing people out.

That would leave us both sitting at 1 loss. Yes, we beat them earlier in the season. We would also have the most current loss though. They also have the Notre Dame "brand".

If it comes down to it, who gets in?

A one loss UGA team, who didn't win their conference
A one loss Notre Dame team

UGA head to head win over Notre Dame
UGA with the more current loss

I don't think we need to be "rooting" for Notre Dame just to make our win look better. If we take care of business, we're in.

If Notre Dame wins against USC, North Carolina State, at Miami, and at Stanford and ends up 11-1, they are in the playoff. Their "brand" is enough for voters.

Now if they go 10-2 or 9-3, they will be in the Orange Bowl as long as Miami/Virginia Tech have at least two losses.

I know it's fun to play the game, but there's a lot of the "What If" scenarios that will play themselves out through the rest of the season. I would imagine that 90% of those remaining issues will be resolved by the respective Championship Games for the various leagues, too.

To be sure, the picture will likely clear up some as we move through the 2nd half of the year, but it's enough to give you an aneurysm trying to pin down all of the possibilites.

It was on radio, so I couldn't tell. I want to vent more about this experience though, because it was shocking and traumatic...

I remember the finebaum radio show from over a decade ago when it was the politically incorrect Deplorables college football AM radio show. And the callers all hated finebaum with a passion and gave him relentless non-stop hell and it was comedy gold. Anyway, I haven't listened in years, but here's a recap of the 15 minutes I caught yesterday. This is not an exaggeration:

-a woman from miZzzouri with a clothes pin clamped over both nostrils called in to admonish finebaum and his female co-host for not wearing sunscreen or hats when she saw them outside in the sun on tv Saturday.
-another caller, presumably called in to actually talk about college football, but the female host hijacked it to get his opinion on her outfit.
-then she and finebaum giggled awkwardly for 5 excruciating minutes ribbing each other with inside jokes about eachother's wardrobes
-finally they played segments of Saban's and Kirby's press conferences to make the point, I guess, of them being similar in message, but then afterwards, the female co-host just said empty things like "they are cut from the same cloth"
-the rest of what I caught was about the shock of Saban saying "rat poison", and the girl host at one point said "does rat poison even still exist?". And she was dead serious.

I've never clicked on that thread about the Herschel Talkers, but there's no way in hell it could be worse than this moron festival. Leftists ruin everything they fricking touch. Eat shite, commie scum.

OK, I see now that she's smoking hot. But, that's just another reason she doesn't belong talking college football on the radio.

What's the point of putting hot women on the radio when you can't see the one and only asset that got them the job in the first place?

To be fair, she's just replaced Maria Taylor on SEC Nation, too, so she's getting plenty of camera time.

I heard her on PF's show, and she was actually pretty insightful compared to most of the female on air personalities.

Exactly. They should all be weather girls walking around in front of that big satellite board helping to distract us from the next CAT5 heading our way. This really isn't that hard.

Basically, but it brought back the Peach Bowl name when they become a major bowl. Its the Chick Fil A Peach Bowl, just like we have the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, or the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Exactly. Its easier to explain what goes on with different scenarios though.

That show also airs live on SEC Network for most of the day.
