"I'm 100% convinced that Miami and Georgia are on a collision course for the national championship."

-Mark Richt, December 12th, 2015

Prophetic words? I don't know. The rest of schedule are very similar in difficulty for both. And then if both teams survive that, they have to face the big Two heaveyweights of college football in their conference championship games.

If both make it there, and win, then the collision course is on obviously.

Make it there and then lose, and get left out of playoff, then it's a collision course for a New Years Day bowl matchup between the two. Rest assured.

Far out.

The only thing Miami is on a collision course with is the Camping World Bowl

Mark’s a great guy but we would stomp them this year. It would be a violent massacre

Anything can happen, but GA Tech and VA Tech appear to be the only obstacles left to making the ACC championship game.

Evil Richt got real riled up when those thugs stomped on the 50. That was about it for emotion

Remember that Miami has only played four games because of all the bad weather. That's a pretty huge disadvantage.

If they rally are on the right track, and I'm not saying they are, a lot could easily be disguised somewhat by the fact that were judging them by the same standards that we're judging teams with 2 whole games more experience.

They also play Notre Dame as well. Plus, I wouldnt be surprised if a Mark Richt led team loses a game they shouldnt.

No chance they win all those games and beat Clemson. Even if they somehow win the ACC, they will be going to the Orange Bowl as the ACC rep, and if we make a major bowl, it will be the Peach.

Clemson usually drops one they shouldn't as well though. Except for once two years ago.

Notre Dame doesn't count on the ACC scorecard though does it? I still don't know how that whole relationship works with them.

There really is a clear path for Georgia making playoff even with one loss this year. If the chaos falls right.

There's about four teams we really need to be pulling hard for to lose each week.

Is this a great fricking country, or what?

No - does not count as conference loss

Here is how it works:

ND is part of the ACC for all sports except football, but they are contractually obligated to play 5 games a year vs the ACC (it's why they had to drop their Michigan rivalry / they opted to keep MI State instead)

IF the ACC does not have a qualified team for a NY6 bowl and ND has at least 9 (or it may be 10) wins, the Irish get the Orange Noel

The Irish are also part of the ACC bowl picture when it comes to filling slots

Honestly feel better about this after the elections in November

ALMOST makes me wanna see the Michigan teams do well.

Still can't bring myself to root for Ped State though...

It's just so freaky how the Notre Dame game fell on this particular year. And how valuable that win is.

I'm trying to peel back all the layers of planetary alignment and chance and randomness, that put us here, and i'm just about cross-eyed thinking about it.

I'm more worried about playing tech in the regular season than I am about us playing Miami in the national championship game. Their offense sucks. We would eat them alive.

I heard part of the finebaum show today on accident. They had edited snippets out of Saban's and Kirby's press conferences Saturday.... and were playing them back to back interchangeably. TO make the point at how similar the message and tone and everything about it was.

I stayed tuned until the end of the segment to see if anyone said Sick Naban, but they didn't. Just a lot of giggling and awkward flirting because apparently espn makes finebaum have a female co-host now for diversity.

It just seems like everything is coming up roses at the moment, and that's not the way the world usually works. So, maybe Miami will get into the playoff this year. And we'll get left out.

That's not what I think will happen. Just one of the storm forecast models.
