Would all be forgiven?
If we get blown out at home, will the administration begin to have 'buyer's regret'?
Incidentally, how long of a contract did UGA give Smart anyway?

6 years, $3.5M/yr, off the top of my head.

Well, that's definitely more than a trial period. Clearly there was a belief that Smart would be the future. Maybe after two or three years that will look like a good idea.
But there's also a lingering fear that we could be looking at what happpened to Muschamp, who was supposed to be "the future" for Florida.

Yes all would be forgiven.
UT is clearly the east frontrunner and we control our own destiny still.

No. All will not be forgiven. Georgia fans on this board have always melted down after every single loss. And, when we win they always say we should have won by more.
Very few people on this board will ever be satisfied.

If we make it to the SECCG, with one loss being to Ole mIss 45-14 it will be forgiven.
Nobody cared when after we beat Hawaii 41-10 about the 20 point loss to UT earlier that year.
That was more my point.

I know. I have no problem with you. I was just observing that when it comes to Georgia rants posters, a coach is only as good or bad as his last loss or close game. A melt is only a moment away.

I can't really honestly believe anyone , seriously, is pissed about the hire.
It was clearly time.
But to both lunatic fringes..
Richt is gone let it go, support the Dawgs or move on.
And to the Richt haters, he's gone ; let it go.
Also, though stop giving Kirby, the coaches, and the players a pass. Support them yes, but they have to step up. There has been no improvement, and this staff was supposed to do that.
The Dawgs have come out completely, flat and uninspired in 2 games this year. That is unacceptable ( KS would agree ). Being not as talented is one thing, but there is no way Ole Miss has 45-14 talent more the UGA, and those that argue that are just rudiculous, and there is no excuse acceptable for the Nichols game, none.
Kirby has time, and no one expects a National title this year, or even wins this week or in Jax. But there has to be more desire and effort and that is clearly on the coaching; steady improvement needs to be seen. Not wins necessarily, but improvemt at all phases of the game.

Yeah, I'd say 5 games is plenty enough time to fully evaluate a brand new staff.
