"Dave Van Halanger isn’t retiring and he didn’t resign. Beyond that, neither he nor Georgia offering much of an explanation for why Van Halanger’s 14-year employment at UGA and 30-year working relationship with Mark Richt is ending."

Translation: he got fired. It does make me wonder if Pruitt found our strength and conditioning program lacking or some personality conflict with Van Halanger. Regardless I wish Dave well. He was with us for a long time.

It's funny how we've gotten to a place where:

All good things = Pruitt and CMR

All bad things = McGarity

Joseph Goebbels could have learned a few things from CMR.

FWIW... He's not been involved in S&C since he was moved in early 2011 to the created support staff position of Director of Player Welfare...

Not sure what the position exactly entails but part of it is the Paul Oliver program...

From the presser sounded like he had been salary processed.

There is subtle bitterness in the comments in the article. I have no idea what to make of it.

Some of it didn't even sound subtle. I feel for him and am thankful for all the time and energy he poured into UGA even after changing positions a few years ago but it sounds like it was time to move on re: restructuring and definitely doesn't sound like it was his choice.

DVH is 61... hope he is vested in the state retirement plan, if not that sucks. He's been with CMR for 30 years...

Maybe he played hardball like he was going with Bobo to Colorado State, but then it didn't work out at there, and UGA already made other plans, and there he was, holding his dick, with his whole life ahead of him.

Being head of the Oliver foundation makes it suspicious, it obviously wasn't just some restructuring or pay dispute.

Was he actually the head of that?

I highly doubt he threatened to leave with Bobo considering he'd been with Richt for so long and it's not like there was a similar position Bobo needed out there.

And yea Dallas hopefully he had something like that to plan with, Richt did him a big favor making a position to keep him around at even before the Paul Oliver Network was started too.

Richt created a position for him...to keep him safe...and then when Bobo left he got cocky and betrayed Don Richt by demanding more compensation.

Don Richt doesn't like disloyalty...

Anyone ever had the pleasure of meeting VH's daughter? She nuttier than squirrel shite!

I woke up at 5am to her kicking my back (sleeping on the floor) and yelling "Why the frick are you pussies asleep?!?!"
Now shes hot and currently involved with my buddy, and I give fine women a little more "crazy bitch" buffer then your average trailer park queen. But after kick 5 or 6 I swept the leg and rolled up on her, bear hugged, and the proceed to hunch her slowly. She went from thinking she was the wild one to wondering who in gods name is this crazy MFer!!
Needless to say, when she got loose she gave me a wide berth. Sleep like a baby after that.
