I would just like to know if CMR talked to his Former Players about not Coaching his Former Players,as he was so direct and to the point about wanting to do so. If he didn't,then I have lost a lot of respect for the man.I realize he has to look out for himself, and his Family, and maybe this was out of his control, but just a simple,Yes he did talk to the Players,or No he didn't,just something about this doesn't sit too well with me

I don't think he would poach any of our current players and he already said he wouldn't sway recruits that they weren't already after (the way James Franklin did Vandy). Richt isn't that kinda guy.

eta: oh, you're talking about the bowl game. He honored his commitment to Georgia for 15 years. I'm sure he wanted to coach the bowl game but we had already let him go and he got a good job offer. Can't expect him to stick around when he's immediately ready to move on to his next job.

It was pretty widely reported that Richt held a private meeting Thursday night to tell the players he wouldn't be able to coach the bowl game.

Yep, if our admins wanted him to coach the bowl game then they should not have fired him until after the bowl game. They might not have anticipated him getting a new job that quickly but they had to know it was a possibility and given Richt's credentials actually it was probable.

The admins bent over backwards to accomodate Richt and placate the fans by giving him the opportunity to coach the bowl game and offering him a job within the Athletic Dept.

Richt was all for it until Miami called and now he's "buh bye"....

And if anyone's upset at him for it they're an idiot. We fired him. He owes us nothing. He had every intention of coaching the bowl game, but he has a responsibility at his new job, and like every normal human being, he's going to focus on his new job that has some problems instead of the job he got fired from.

the opportunity? It's pretty common when there's an amicable split that the coach will stay on. That's not uncommon.

Uhh no shite, he is miami's head coach. As of right now, he literally has zero contractual obligations to UGA whatsoever. Are you really upset with him for this? It's his job, he needs to be recruiting for UM and assembling a staff.

The same haters that have wanted Richt fired for years are now upset because he isn't bending over for McGarity to stick it in one more time. If he stayed and we lost the bowl game they would blame it on Richt for deliberately throwing the game.
By the way, when Richt walked into that meeting with the Georgia team they gave him the "U" sign.

I wanted Richt fired from the day he was hired. I did not like the cream puff FSU finesse offense he ran. I thought I had misjudged him until BVG left and performance fell off. So I am a hater according to your rhetoric. I would argue that you are the hater, as you are hurling judgment and random insults at thousands of people of whom you know nothing.

I look forward to the day that you real haters accept the truth and move forward. It's about Georgia football, not Richt. With which does you loyalty lie? I am sure there are Miami forums for Richt groupies.

Personally I don't care what he does but think he should GTFO immediately. He is a fired employee.

You need to get over your hate. Did you post publicly you wanted Richt fired when we won 2 SEC titles? Doubtful.
I never called you out but you attack me personally. Guess my general comment struck close to home.

what exactly do the haters you reference hate?

Despite what you or others may think, every.single.one.of.us all want the SAME thing; a national title. Period. That's why we're fans, we want to see our team win the ultimate prize.

Just because some people aren't bad mouthing our previous coach at every turn doesnt' mean we aren't excited about the future.

Yep I posted that. Plenty of times. Please demonstrate where my reply above was any more personal than yours.

You disneys are as dumb as ever. Gotta be a democrat. Man fails at job............I have statistical proof of his underachievement........I believe thatlike all of us who underachieve he deserves to lose his job.......so I hate him. Don't forget to call me a white privilege 1%er racist.

You should start a movement...,#RLM

happy sattidy rules. Headed up to Big Sky four a 4 day binge on the 12th. I reckon I will get banned again at some point that week.

That place is covered in elk and bighorns that magically appear the day after the season ends.

On topic requirement fulfilled: I do not think Richt will last 4 years at the U. Those thugs done there make dawg players look like Girl Scouts.

you hate him for simply not winning a title? I guess by your logic you hate every coach and player that's ever come through UGA in 100 years aside from the roster and staff from 1980?

It's already started. Richt is gone, new life is in.

The administration thought that they could fire Richt and that he would be willing to stay around as a figurehead or meekly go away. The never expected him to be in demand and jump to another school immediately.

You DO realize UGA fired him, right? Richt does not owe anything to UGA. AND, UGA does nto owe anything to Richt. they paid him well to do a job. He did his job and they paid him. A coach should never coach one team after accepting a job from another. Certainly you aren't mad because he accepted a job?

I'm glad he isn't coaching for the bowl game. He did get fired, so that should of ended his coaching at UGA. Plus I think it is better to promote one of our guys for the intern job. I'm glad we got Smart, but it would of been interesting if Pruitt was named the coach for the bowl game.

They could have really rubbed his nose in it and had security escort him out of Butts-Mehre
