Frick richt! People can say all they want about how he brought UGA back, but that's BS. That was evident last week. His last 5 or 6 years in Athens he did nothing but bring the UGA football program down down. Yeah he got lucky in 2007 and 2012 with some almost great years. But from 2006 on till he was rightly FIRED he was a joke. No I will not pull for the nerds but it will be hilarious if they beat the valuim sucking pos.

Damn man. Did you follow UGA football in the 90s? Saying he brought us back isn't BS. I was ready for the change that happened last year but you sound like you have no frame of reference for Richt's time here.

I met CMR once ,when he came to RInggold,on one of his PR stops for the local Bulldog club.. I took my daughter with me to meet the man that was going by to take us to the next level. The first sentence she had spoke was "Go Dawgs"...she won an autographed football ,and I had he privilege of taking her down to get it,he shook my hand, and she said , Go Dawgs when he handed it to her,,,he chuckled and said Go Dawgs...one of My favorite memories.with her...he may not have been what we need to take us to the next level but you can't deny that he put us back on the map

I was as happy as anyone when UGA decided a change was needed at HC, Richt had 15 yrs and accomplished all he could. I don't understand how anybody could call the classiest coach in the biz a POS? Richt may not be a great coach but he is a great man no doubt, I too hope he brings the U back to life.

He brought us back but that was a long time ago and it went back down to below where he started.

OK, I was pretty sure you didn't follow UGA football in the 90s, now it's confirmed.

Uga football turned around in 1997. Is our program better now than it was in 1997 or 2001? No, it's not.

Tech didn't play fsu. I would say you meant clemson, but tech played nowhere near "tough"

My point exactly!
And yes I have been a DAWG all my life. I lived through the Goff days and Donnan days. And yes I agree Richt brought us back way above that his first 6 season. But from 2006 on he was headed down hill fast to below the Goff and Donnan days. All he did was steal from UGA his last 8 years. And put on that "classy coach" disguise.

Let me start by saying I supported the change last year. It was time for UGA to have a new coach.

With that said, you are off in your history of UGA football IMO. You say "UGA football turned around in 1997" so let's look at 1997 through the day Richt got the job.

1997-2000 UGA went 35-13
During Richt's last four years UGA went 40-13

Yep, thanks for the correction. Clemson is actually a better team than FSU IMO. Well, let's put it this way: GT didn't lose to Clemson quite as badly as we lost to Ole Miss which is a bit ironic considering one of the posts on this board raggin' on Tech about that loss.

Looks similar. In fact, both were 12th best in the nation.

Not that I have a stake I this argument, but that doesn't really support your assertion.

Absurd to compare.CJD had losing records to AU,GT and UT,ZERO SECe titles and
beat a grand total 1 team ranked in the top 20 in 5 years or 4 for the sake of the argument.

CMR beat 3 alone in '14 and 2 top 12 teams in 13 (including a top5) 2 SECe titles,
and OWNED GT and AU.

The program was completly out of control with JD and the inmates running the asylum

Rd always gets upset when you point out that results way too similar to donnan's gets you fired, and we didn't even include the results of 2008-2011 that were undoubtedly worse. All in all, what an 8 years it was.

Do we really need to restate Richt's record against ranked and winning teams over his last 7 years? I might also point out that Auburn was a better program during that time, in spite of their national title. I won't defend Donnan too hard because he needed to go as well, if for no other reason than his abysmal performance against Tech. However, his five years don't look much different than Richt's last seven years.

Richt looks pretty psyched about the game finishing and getting his chance to walk across the field and say hi to Paul Johnson again.

I couldn't care less whether Richt is psyched or not. If his name is uttered here again it will be too soon. You Richt sycophants are the most insufferable people on planet Earth.
