I'm up on Lanier. A ton of people have the boat you're looking at.

They love it.

I can't get over the cost of ownership (depreciation, mainly). Unless you're raping the guy who's selling it, I personally like the idea of a boat club or rental membership. It isn't cheap. But it's twice as cheap as owning.

Good luck (only pussies sell their harleys for a boat)

I'm not going to tell you what to do with your money but I can tell you this.....Boats are money pits. I can't tell you how many people buy used boats and end up never really enjoying them due to costs of fixing and maintaining them. While the appeal of the boat trumps thise knowledge most times, as someone who has not only owned used boats, but also had friends that owned used boats...I would either buy new or get the truck.

Just one guy's opinion, but I can say this, I'll never buy a used boat again

Wait a sec... you live near Tybee and you don't use your boat for fishing? Cause that thing doesn't look conducive to fishing at all. It also looks like it has an inboard motor which means more $ if something happens.

If you have to spend the night on the water then I guess it's ok but you can still get a boat more versatile and will allow sleeping and fishing and partying... like a Grady White cuddy cabin.

If you are on the coast and in the ocean, get a boat with an outboard, more so if you plan on keeping this for a while.

Never been a fan of Chapparal either, but if you are getting a great deal, go for it, just know what you are getting yourself into prior. Used boats are a dime a dozen and a hell of a lot more sellers than buyers.

Whats your tow distance, that boat is going to be hell on a transmission on everything other than a 3/4 ton truck

I was granted access unbeknownst to myself, until I accidentally clicked through here a few weeks ago. Not sure why, maybe because I live in Atl and asked a long time ago.

Ive never docked one there. Only fueled up on the way up the river to river street. I do catch that shrimp boat there from time to time and pick up heads on shrimp from time to time for $2

My dope guy works on a boat though. Its not uncommon for me to score an 8ball and 5lbs of mediums for $120 on a random friday evening

Had a 32 Topaz sportfisher for about 10 years. Kept it at Wild Dunes Yacht Harbor down in Charleston. Had children and well....it had to go. Miss that boat but the folks are right, there is ALWAYS something that needs fixing on a boat, especially one in a salt water environment.

If I ever get em thru college I plan on buying another, prolly a cc this time that I can tow home. Not sure what they charge now days to dock but it was 10 per foot baxk then, 320 bucks a month got rough with children around.

A) im getting off tybee before it almost kills me again
B) i wouldnt move across the bridge into motown even if i found a free six bedroom house
C) the surrounding areas are not much better
D) Up past guyton i know people
E) My friend has a 10 acre tract for sale that i could build on in the next year or so

Verdict: Move into the country and eat alot of peaches

Frankly im a tad offended that a hinesville resident would come across as particular about where one might reside
