That team was not good. AJ green pussied out. Rambo was not playing well and Boykin was still nothing but a return specialist at the time. Ogletree, and geathers were true freshmen and Murray was red shirt freshman.

That team was not good.

CJK5H?

Pirate gonna pirate?

WSU spends no money on sports?

Who knows, but as a solid football recruit would WSU excite you?

Really? How'd OSU lose to Va Tech? How'd Bama lose to ULM Sabans 1st Year? How'd Miss St get killed by GT last year?

Did CMR have a 12-29 record going in to his 4th year and lose to an FCS school?I'm assuming you know what I mean by FCS but Im doubtful.

Are you really comparing CMR @ UGA to Leach at WSU?

Leach is now 5-2, with a legit shot in the Pac-12.

AND, he is trying to convince kids to do this at Washington State.

Pac 12 North is a shite show and WSU has yet to play and beat a top 25 team.

Do you want to compare his 1st 4 years to CMR's?

Wulff was 9 - 40 before Leach got there. It was a putrid coaching gig to take over. Theyve been owned by the Huskies in that state forever. Which makes is somewhat hard for me to believe Leach's seat was hot at the beginning of the season, but maybe so. Leach needs athletes to run the air raid, not the easiest thing to acquire at that garbage program. Idk the story behind the loss, if he had key injuries, etc. But he beat oregon and zona this year who even in a down year are always a class above lowly WSU. But leach haters will always rejoice after a loss like PNC with a bag of dicks

He lost to Portland State. is it easier to recruit to and win there? The criticism against Richt is that he loses to opponents he should beat from time to time. Does this guy get a pass? If he loses to Portland State, (A team he should beat) what tells you he would not do the same here?

Portland State, though? In what world should Portland State beat Washington State? You all keep talking about why the program isn't doing well against other PAC 12 teams, but he lost to PORTLAND STATE!

I'm a little surprised at the disdain Richt gets for getting beat by legitimate teams while some give Leach a pass.....or at least defend him.

SURELY you aren't putting them in the same category as Portland State, are you? Seriously?

However, if you are going to criticize Richt for losing to them, shouldn't you say the same things about Leach?

The reactions in this thread shows one thing......it isn't Richt's job performance that people don't like him for.

Washington State fans wanted to fire Leach one month ago. He can't recruit, he can't coach a defense, he'd be a terrible representative for the program because he's an arse, and he's 17-27 at his current coaching gig.

If anyone actually wants to hire that guy over Richt I'm going to assume they've never played football, or even had someone explain the basics to them in their entire life.

If you cant comprehend the difference in expectations between Leach at WSU and Richt with consistent top 5-10 recruiting classes, constant top 15 preseason rankings, and squandering a half decade of a rotten as frick division then just go back to playing in your own feces

Hell, I've never advocated Leach over Richt, but some of this hate on Leach is just irrational and shows no effort to understand the obstacles that he has faced and overcame at every University that he has ever coached.

Nobody, that I know of, is currently saying to trade Leach for Richt. He has his deficiencies. The fervor the op is referring to was during Leach's TT era. He may be over his head where he's at now idk. But he and Mumme have desciple coaching his offense all around the country now. I'll assume they understand the basics of football better than a few of you gurus in this thread

What has he overcome at Washington State? Seriously, he's 5-2 in one season there. That's accomplishing something?

He was great at Texas Tech in an air-it-out type of league, but he never had a defense, and he never won anything of even remote significance. Never made a Big12 title, lost the biggest game of his career by over 30 points, and his greatest bowl win was a Holiday Bowl. He was also fired for treating a player poorly. I think some of y'all don't understand his track record as a head coach.

But yeah, what a great hire he would be...

And for all of those who don't know anything about Texas Tech, go take a look at their non-conference schedule when Mike Leach was the coach. Baylor is jealous of how bad that is. His record looks much better at Tech, because he never played anyone worth a crap OOC.

UCF? They were 11-3, ranked, had a 1st round draft pick at QB and was the core of a team that played in a BCS Bowl a few years later. In a shitty, meaningless bowl game that UGA didn't really want to be in...

GT? GT? Richt has owned them during a period where they have been pretty darn good.

Yet, you dwell andd compare these to Portland State?

Isn't that the point, though? Your screaming for Richt's head for losing to teams he should not lose to? How is WSU vs. Portland State any different?
