I think I'm wary of hiring a guy that looks like a good playcaller but only has 1 year of HC experience under his belt.

I like Herman. But it would take him 2-3 years to get the kind of players he needs for his system. Also there's no way we keep Eason.

Why? Hermann did great with his QBs at OSU last year and had a prolific offense this year at Houston. I think Eason would be okay with that. If Hermann comes in we're not going to line up in an empty 5 wide set first play against UNC next year, check his offense with OSU with Barrett and Zeke Elliot.

Eason doesn't fit Herman's offense. He would have to adjust his system to fit Eason's skills.

This Herman needs a dual threat guy for his offense to run the way he wants.

Eason + Herman would be awesome.

Exactly. Eason is to good for Herman not to taylor the offense to his skill set.

That's not the issue. Eason supposedly doesn't want to run a spread.

Likewise. I want an offense that attracts duel-threat/athletic QB's.

Doesn't want to run a triple option per his dad.

Any link or quotes to back this up?

Cardale has some mobility but that offense was predicated completely on his running ability. He tailored it to meet 3 different styles of 3 different QBs and he did it within 2 years

Just my opinion. A qb being able to run is a big part of his offense.
