If you aren't playing for championships, then what's the point?

Well there's about 125 teams in D1 that have no chance to win a championship. Are you saying they all should close down their programs? Who would Georgia (and nearly every other D1 team) play to get those 10 wins then?

The throw the baby out with the bath water argument.

Every single one of those teams have a goal of playing for a championship. I mean that's like day one team meeting type of stuff.

We didn't play for a championship in 2012?
I must have missed something.

Yeah, the part where God basically handed us this game, and we still blew it.

And I'm not concerned with how other programs beat tennessee
Then don't use their record as a comparison to ours and start talking about how they got lucky to beat us.

Well, considering Tennessee might lose another 5 games and we are on pace to win our normal 10
And you know damn well both of these are huuuuge stretches. And if you don't...well then damn.

But...calling a program that averages 10 wins a year a dumpster fire?

Ok, I'll put it another way.

10 win seasons are nothing to celebrate if there isn't a championship attached to it. You know who should celebrate winning 10 games without a championship? Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Missouri. Georgia has the resources and talent pool to be aiming for much, much larger goals than being content with 10 wins and a shitty Florida bowl game.

Any season that doesn't end in the Sugar, Rose, Fiesta, Cotton, Orange or Peach Bowl is not a great season.

I agree 100% with that. You know what else is not worth celebrating. The fact that a large portion of the fan base has an "as long as we beat tech" mentality. That is the Jeff Dantzler mantra!

Agreed.

When you win ten games in the SEC East and aren't invited to a BCS or Big Six bowl game, it wasn't a successful season. Winning ten games in the shite SEC east over the past 7-8 years is nothing to be bragging about without a championship. This mess has brought out a lot of Georgia fans who don't know much about college football.
