GSB Affirmative Action Must End........

If a thread isn't interesting enough to remain at the top of the board on it's own, what right does it have to be stickied there by an admin..........where it unfairly takes the place on Page 1 from another thread??
College football season is coming and the board is already speeding up, but unfortunately, there's less and less room on here because we've become like the other shitty team boards that feel the need to decorate and hang drapes by stickying 5 or 6 threads to the top.
And word on the street is that some NFL schlubs are lobbying for an affirmative action sticky for a pro football falcons flat-bill thread. And soon, some will want the UGA game threads stickied........
....And on and on......but....Where does it end??

Because there are 20 spaces for threads. If a thread isn't interesting enough to be in the top 16 spaces allotted by non stickies, then it moves to the next page. Oh well, it wasn't that important anyway.

Who cares? The Braves season will be pretty much over by then. It will replace that one. Sorry that you don't agree with it but this board isn't populated by just you.
ETA: Would you rather have a bunch of Falcons threads cluttering the board? Or would you rather have them consolidated to one thread where you don't have to wade through them to get one you are interested in?
I doubt we'll sticky game threads because they'll constantly be at the top due to poster activity.

Which is exactly what would happen to three of the four stickied threads we have right now were it not for Affirmative Action.
Meanwhile, the alcoholic thread doesn't have a sticky but it seems to survive just fine. Same with spunky's cooking thread. And they have more pages than the all the stickied threads do combined (minus the recruiting one)....
Not only that, but i dont think most people even look at the stickied threads. I say this because, i don't......and because last years Braves thread was five times longer than this years....and it didnt have a sticky.
Also, 9 times out of 10, anything that you support is absolute crap. So, there's that too.

ETA: Jeff if it's any consolation, not that it matters, I'd like to sticky the hunger game threads when it comes time. We'll clean up the stickies but the falcons thing is purely to keep all falcon talk confined to one thread. You've seen yourself how obnoxious people on the SEC Rant are. The MSB is far, far, FAR worse with Saints fans. This is the only place UGA posters can post about Atlanta without hearing the stadium looks like a vagina, how the Saints have a super bowl, how NO > ATL, or any other loads of horse shite.

To be fair I think the Braves and sig thread are wastes of a sticky. Both very slow threads. Maybe sticky an archive of big/important threads that makes them easier to find(kind of like Arkansas does on their board) and then just let them fall off when nobody is talking.
Honestly I pay less attention to stickies than I do if they were a new subject. I just don't even think to look up there anymore.
All this said though, this is the last thing I would think of to complain about.

Which Is That: This practice of affirmative action for stickying threads makes a mockery of some of the hypocrites that strut around here calling themselves "conservative" or pretending to believe in "freedom" or " liberty".......

Braves and Basketball thread should be combined into an "Other Sports Thread" that can run through the year and include Falcons talk right around when Braves wrap up.
The sig and avi thread should be abbreviated to "Sigs and Avis" too many letters and words in the title.
