I think keeping an up and comer would depend on how much we pay and which blue blood jobs open up.

Of course... We need to get the facilities to the point that an up and comer feels like he can't improve himself a lot moving to an upper tier program when a spot opens. That is our quandary.

UVA is in the ACC and spent $140M on an arena that seats 15,000

For UVA, it's Tony Bennett's pack line defense that's nearly impossible to score against. They haven't gone beyond the Sweet 16 in the tournament though because of Michigan State. They have good players (Malcolm Brogdon is a stud) but it's system more than talent there. They don't crash the glass after a shot, they send all five guys back to defend against transition offense and force the other team to run plays. When UVA sets up their defense, good luck getting an open shot.

Miami has had great guard play over the last several years and they do again this year.
