Was reading an article earlier and came across a number of names that I'd nearly forgotten:

quote:

Caleb King, Richard Samuel, Carlton Thomas, Dontavius Jackson, Washaun Ealey, and Ken Malcome.

It seems crazy to me that we've had that many highly touted kids since about 2008 and it looks like none of these guys ever panned out much of anywhere. King and Thomas (and Ealey, too, I think) have all been arrested at some point (King multiple times). Richard Samuel seems to be running an athletic training business of some sort. Ealey is still holding out hope for a shot at the NFL, but that seems highly unlikely at this point. Jackson and Malcome....just seem to have disappeared.

It was kinda depressing to search these guys and see that none of them ever really got traction anywhere. Anyone else know anything more about what they're doing now?

King lost a kid, so I'm going to excuse any minor transgressions for him. Don't want to even try to imagine what that's like.

That's terrible to hear. I don't think I'd heard that before.

I read an article were Moreno was trying to make a NFL comeback, and that it could possibably be wih Denver. Think its a longshot though he makes a team.

Who would have ever thought he'd have to make a "comeback" after watching him play here? Isn't that insane to think about?

Nice, Grey!

My wife actually went to school and graduated with Tyson. They were pretty good friends, as is his now-wife. They all keep in touch. Even had kids in the same Pre-K last year. He's always come off as a good dude and I think he's actually doing well for himself these days.

A torn ACL and a dislocated elbow will do that to a player....

True. Point being, he stayed pretty healthy for us, so durability wasn't really perceived as an issue he would have.

Moreno... Remember this one from 2012:
Dumb Move

For those not interested in clicking link:

"Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno was arrested on charges of DUI in Denver while behind the wheel of a Bentley convertible with personalized license plates that read "SAUCED," KDVR-31 reported Monday.
The 24-year-old reportedly was driving 70 mph in a 45-mph zone."

Nothing like driving a high profile car with even higher profile plates.

Unfortunately, that's life for a runningback in the NFL. I was listening to Cowherd one day (admittedly not my favorite), and he had someone who was an expert on the human brain on his show. The guy said that 25 carries in the NFL is the equivalent of putting a motorcycle helmet on and ramming your head into your garage door 800 times.

Looks to have been arrested at least once (assuming thins because I came across his mugshot). Only thing I could find on him was that he was intending to transfer, but never actually found anything saying where he transferred to or if that fell through.
