what do you think? I'm not a betting man, but if I were to pick I'd certainly take the under. A 9 is a push so no loss there, so you're basically guessing if we win 8 games or 10, and I'd say 8 is far more likely.

Id bet over all day. Defense, schedule, special teams. Chubb......

I could see us losing 3, but not 4.....think 10 wins is way more likely.

Bama
uT
GT
Aub
Fla

Those are the 5 we could lose, but don't think we do less than 3-2 split..history under Richt and all.

Give me losses to Bama, UT and Fla and even that gets me my bet back.

I just wouldn't feel anywhere remotely close to comfortable putting money on us to go 10-2 with our QB situation. I mean..we went 9-3 last year with a pretty damn good QB that we at least had some idea about and the 2nd best RB we've ever had.

Yes chubb, the OL, WRs, ST, and defense will be lights out. No doubt. But replacing arkansas with bama, a complete quesiton mark at QB, and UT/AU/tech on the road...I don't know.

I'm really 50/50 on whether we are more likely to go 8-4 or 10-2. That sportsbook has the over as -125 so I'd probably put my money on the under since it pays off better.
9-3 is my actual guess on our record, but obviously that'd be a push.

Our defense will be 2x better. Special teams will be rocking. That 2nd best RB didn't play but half the season. Our depth at RB position is sick with talent. We return 4/5 and 8/10 on the OL. Our Kicker is stout and returners are just gonna be better. Our QB last year was a game manager, didn't lose games, but couldn't win them either. This year we don't know.

I get a push with 9 wins on that bet. Seems like a cake walk to me. We won't end 8-4 with out schedule. We get to ease into it for the first time under Richt. We have no suspensions. Great freshman class coming in. No way we only win 8

Very true that we don't really have a gauntlet. Our first "real" test is game 3 at home and our first REAL biggie is game 5 at home.

Still though, you have who you have. If Ramsey is a walking turnover who can't read a defense it doesn't matter how easy the start is. My hope is he can be like DG's first year starting. Not flashy, not going to win any awards, but just consistent. Greene in '01 threw for 17/9 but had a pretty efficient rating and let our D do a bunch of work. That year we went 8-3 regular season, but we also have a better supporting cast now than then.

Given that Richt averages about 9.6 wins/season, that's pretty much on the money.

At least someone agrees with me:

quote:

Greyson Lambert's arrival doesn't change anything regarding this space's preview of Georgia last week: the Dawgs were still better than their record a year ago, are still poised to be one of the nation's best defenses on passing downs, and still have a certain Nick Chubb. The schedule is the East's toughest by orders of magnitude, and whoever's the quarterback -- Brice Ramsey remains the guess here -- has to prove himself competent-at-least. but unless the Dawgs drop all three road tilts at Tennessee, Auburn and Georgia Tech, nine wins really should be the floor here. OVER 9 WINS.

No.

The main difference between this years defense and last years is that there is no breaking in period.

I'm still not sold on our depth at the interior line positions. Next year is a different story, but this year

Having said that I do believe we will be better defensively just by being a little more consistent, but certainly not dominant which is what "2x better" would be.

As far as 9 wins, I'm more in line with WG. I can see 8 much more so than 10 given our uncertainty at QB. No injuries and surprisingly good QB play puts us over, but...

Agreed. I am all about Pruitt and I think the defense will improve but 2x better is a big stretch. People will likely be disappointed if they think our defense is going to suddenly become unstoppable. As that quote said, we have a helluva pass defense but the run defense was pretty mediocre. That won't just suddenly disappear. I still worry about stopping the run.

That's a really interesting link IT.

I'd agree with him on UGA, SC and UF. But I'd take:

Over on UK at 6
Under on Missou at 7.5
Over on UT at 7.5
Over on Vandy at 3

This.

SC, Bama, et al saw the blueprint last year by UF. Arky could have been a different story had they not vapor locked in the first half.

But, they did..
