The Falcons have no official depth chart right now, and until the regular season approaches, that won’t change. This gives the coaching staff a chance to mix and match players on different units to see where everyone fits best.
“Really, that’s farther away than we’re wanting to look right now,” Quinn said of creating a depth chart. “So best thing for us, we’re still going through our install. Still trying to learn the guys as well as we can.
“As we get through the first, second game, I think by that third week in the preseason, that’s where the roles will start to emerge.”

Freeman went down hard today. No update but he has not returned yet.

Damn wasn't Coleman hurt yesterday?
Beasley is impressing people. Really like some of the videos that have come out of Quinn coaching.

Both of them have hamstring injuries.

Looks like Ray Rice may find a home in the ATL

I'd take him in a heartbeat. Even before the injuries in was concerned about the situation at RB.

Matty Ice will be throwing a lot this year!

If he has anything left in the tank, Rice could be a stud in the new offense. Shanahan's offense in Cleveland was a lot of stretch running plays with cutbacks, something I think Rice would excel in. The Browns had a good offense last year until Alex Mack got injured and their line play started deteriorating.

The following write up is about week1 of camp. Its from Falcoholic:
Collins needs to step it up. On the bright side it seems Beasley will be a beast and Hageman has lost weight and is living up to his draft spot.

The offensive line is looking more physical and aggressive than they have in quite some time, which is an excellent early sign, even if that depth is still scary. The Falcons are clearly trying to figure out the best configuration for those reserves, because Tyler Polumbus, Mike Person and Chris Chester have all grabbed time at left guard, and Demarcus Love has gotten a longish look at tackle. Whatever it takes for this team to have a quality line is fine by me, but this is a team that knows it has to largely make the best of what it has.
Ricardo Allen is simply running away with the free safety job. He looks athletic, comfortable at the position and aggressive enough to get Dan Quinn fired up. The only thing that could slow his momentum at this point is if he scuffles in game action, so watch for him to clear that hurdle.
Jalen Collins doesn't look ready for primetime just yet. He could just be having a Desmond Trufant rookie training camp which will give way to a stellar rookie season, but temper your expectations. Robert Alford has flashed his skill and athleticism all camp and is the favorite to win the outside job opposite Trufant, at least initially.

It's early. Give him time (hopefully)

I sure hope so. In this division, you're fricked without a pass rush. I loved the draft pick at the time and still do.

Idk where this ray rice stuff has come from. I dont think he is a zone back...esp in the falcons wide zone scheme with KS. We tried to make TJ Duckett fit into the wide zone sheme with Alex Gibbs and it didnt work. We need an explosive shifty guy so he can read the end and the 3 technique quickly.

There is a game tonight.

Here are five things I'm looking forward to:
Matt Ryan's options in the receiving game
Ryan arguably had a decent supporting cast early in his career. It's been a decidedly mixed bag since. But the stable of receivers at his disposal this year is impressive. Getting a sneak peak of these guys at work should be a real treat.
Antone Smith's opportunity to shine
With Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman sidelined with hamstring injuries, Smith should get a decent amount of touches Friday. The coaching staff will probably be careful with him, not wanting to risk injury. That said, I'm eager to see Smith back in game action.
Offensive balance
A running game? What the heck is that? Preseason play calling doesn't mirror regular season play calling, but we should get some sense of the variety the Falcons will throw at opposing defenses.
Viability of the zone blocking scheme
We've heard about Kyle Shanahan's wholesale conversion of the offensive line to a ZBS. The ensuing shake up of the depth chart is proof enough that they're serious about this. I'm eager to see it in a game, and I'm eager to see how the depth chart shakes out.
First look at a Dan Quinn (Falcons) defense
Quinn's potential affect on the defense was a major reason the Falcons hired him. I have no doubt the defense will improve substantially this season. Will there be setbacks? Sure. But the overall improvement on that side of the ball should be palpable.

I hate that we are playing the Titans. Our defense looks pretty good, but it's also against the Titans so I don't know really what to think.
