If he's not the starter, Kirby shouldn't be the coach...

Well, this didn't take long. Is this the closest as we've gotten to a fire Kirby post so far?

Eason closed the gap today for sure.

or widened the gap. Depends on how you look at it.

Certain things are apparent in real time, live that you cant see watching film. I know he was going against the 2's all day, but the kids presence, and QB instincts were clearly better than the other two.

Lamberts back foot throw pick six was pretty typical of what I expect from him. Once again, he is afraid to stand tall, take the hit and deliver the ball. Cant win in the SEC with a QB like that.

Ramsey did look better than he has previously and seemed to be the 2nd best QB on the field today but, hes missing IT and I think a couple of those throws Eason made were just fricking beautiful.

I understand going with the guy who can win the most games...and knowing the playbook is a big part of that...but at the end of the day id rather take my lumps with the future QB than keep him on the bench. The only caveat is that if CKS thinks that throwing him to the wolves too early could be detrimental.

I don't know about the rest of you but the whole "GA fired their coach who won 10 games so CKS is on a short leash" mantra from the national media is bullshite. This is a rebuilding year pure and simple so I'm prepared for the worst in the hopes that we're on the right track to actually compete for the SEC. Going with the freshman is fine by me...we'll have to get him out there eventually.

This will be the starting point for people like HRD and the like to make one random post that they think Kirby should be fired so that they can mention five years down the road that they hated the hire and wanted to hire X-coach that has been successful.

Agreed. We aren't winning the sec with lambert. Might as well get Eason the experience. The floor is probably lower but the ceiling is higher and if we only win 8 games he will at least get some good experience

Who was stupid enough to say that? Kirby is a rookie head coach who inherited a team with lots of problems. Championships might take a few years.

Hell..that was the undertone of everything I read after Richt was fired. How unrealistic our expectations are since Richt has such a great record...

Water under the bridge.

Str8. The kid sees the field like a pro and throws a great ball.

Now why I don't expect to win the title this year, I don't think it's unrealistic to expect a good season and with the talent and renewed excitement on and off the field ; that 9-11 wins should be expected.

I don't get the whole we're rebuilding thing and lowering of expectations. I think that's crap.

But there is not and should not be a short leash on CKS. It will take time to build the POWERHOUSE he will build. But competing for the division should be expected from day 1.

New coaching staff? New schemes? Hopefully a true freshman QB? Thanks for making my point.

WTF?

The schedule is easier this year than last. Plus it has always been said that anyone can win 8-10 games at UGA. Well CKSid not supposed to be just anyone. I promise you he's expecting at least double digit wins and as a fan base we should to. You should not just lower expectations. And what new scheme, the defensive scheme is the same, and offensively, your not gonna see much different. This coaching change was about attitude, energy, and expectations. We aren't going to a new type of hybrid defense or switching to a HUNH offense with a pass run option. STOP lowering expectations. It's ridiculous, you just want to layout your excuses now just invade UGA has a worse record than last year. I can guarantee if the dawgs don't win 10 , Kirby, the team, and staff will be pissed. Hell he was pissed the defense wasn't getting turnovers in the first half of a practice. And the type of fanbase UGA deserves should be pissed to!
