I have a bad feeling that history is repeating itself. We just hired the top coordinator in the country who sat on the knee of one of the greatest of all time for many many years. Feels like Groundhog Day to me.

The dominant coaches of the Mark Richt era were all HCs before they landed the destination job: Saban, Meyer, Carroll, Tressel, Miles, Brown. Bob Stoops is the only guy that I can think of that wasn't a HC first.

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

Bad feeling? Not exactly. There is uncertainty in any hire, but I wouldn't call it a bad feeling. Kirby was not my #1 choice, but Georgia was never going to open up the bank to pull in a dream candidate.

Kirby was a hell of a #2 and clearly was Morehead's and Don Leeburn's #1

No bad feelings here.

Any hire would have risk, even Saban (retirement) and Meyer (missing his family again).

We are a good program, and Richt is a good coach, but right now I think both needed a change and I'm excited about the future again.
