Didn't need the distraction of losing Tucker right now. Glad they chose Pruitt.

High risk, high reward hire. If he can adjust to being the man and exercise a smidgen of diplomacy, it will be a great hire.

Petrino and Pruitt were the only two candidates that scared me.

Pruitt's hire is bad news for Georgia in my opinion. I don't know if he's a "ticking time bomb" so much as he has a very low tolerance for BS -- like the last few Richt years at Georgia.

I give Pruitt a fair amount of credit for our success this year. Pruitt finds smart football players that he can work with and he coaches them up. They don't all have to be highly recruited (Dominick Sanders). Change the culture is an awful business speak expression, but Pruitt changed the culture around Georgia. It's when we started hiiring a bunch of support staff people and practicing differently and first started doing Alabama shite.

Other than his recruiting I love the hire. All the people that would have scared me at UT passed. Pruitt has never led a program (yes I know you can say the same for richt/smart before they got here), is not very affable or likeable, is walking into an absolute dumpster fire, has a minimally talented roster, subpar recruiting class, a micromanager as AD, and for the forseeable future will likely be behidn the 8-ball every year against UGA/Bama/UF.

A proven winner like miles would have been really bad news for us at UT. Pruitt is meh.

Yes we did! They are going after the Kirby model but they aren’t getting in Pruitt what we got in Smart

UT has, by far, the most delusional and impatient fanbase in the country. If Pruitt doesn't win the East in 2-3 seasons, which is a challenge, they'll be painting that rock again.

Sanders wasn't highly recruited. Dominick was a three star. Pruitt saw what others didn't and started Sanders over a five star player.

Dang, with that thread title, I really thought you dodged a bullet.

I was hoping to come in here and read how you did it.

I liked Pruitt ok, but for feel he was a little overhyped IMO. As a recruiter he was clearly good.. but go back and watch those UF games... that was a bad offense. It didn't matter... they did what they wanted to against us with him at the helm.

I think Leach was the coach I least wanted them to land... not because I think he's unbeatable, but because he becomes one more team that you have to solely gameplan for (ie. Ga Tech) relative to the rest of the SEC. Miles probably was the best hire they could have made if you couple him with solid coordinators that you're looking to select from and groom for HC in 3-5 seasons. His best years have probably passed him by, but he's a good recruiter and could help give stability to that program where it's drastically needed. Pruitt may end up being fine there, but I'm not sure he's ready for the chaos that is going to come with years 1-3 of probably sucking hind tit with a depleted roster.
