In a sport like football I would never actively hope for a loss. Actually any sport...but with a lesser sport like baseball it's at least easier to not care about a loss.

The way I see it, we get nothing good from a win. It only delays the inevitable as we will probably go 0-2 after today even if we win. WE have no chance whatsoever of winning the tourney, which is the only chance we have of making a regional.

The GREAT news from a loss would be stricklin's firing, although it doesn't appear ADGM cares very much either way and CSS will be back.

Idk..I guess I don't want to torture myself by continuing to watch if we were to win today, and another L in the career w/l column can only help facilities CSS's departure.

I'm not pulling for a loss...but it wouldn't be the worst thing, IMO.

Meh, I'll stick with Strick for another year. All we'll do is start the rebuilding process over. We knew he took over a shite show and it would take at least three years.

could rebuilding be much worse than the past few years?

All signs point to us being around .500 or worse again next year..might as well do it with someone starting their own thing then continuing through the muck with css, IMO.

Yeah, we could go back to having no power in the lineup and multiple pitchers in an inning that can't throw a strike to save themselves.

Regardless of your thoughts on the coach, you always hope for a win. This team still won enough games to make it to Hoover so you hope they are able to capitalize on the experience as best they can. Wouldn't have been any different had they made it a regional; they would surely not make it beyond a game or two. But at least they gain the experience to carry over to next year.

It's time for him to go. I've heard from numerous coaches that he thinks he's got what he needs as far as talent and let's it all slip right out his back door.

is that different now? looks like we are middle of the pack in hitting HR. almost last in BA and are in the top 5 of most strikeouts.

for pitching we have the most walks, and the second highest ERA.

So what exactly has Stricklin improved?

I'm not going to take the time to look up our stats from 2012 on but all I can say is that this years team was at least fun to watch most of the time whereas I remember Pernos last year and Stricklins first, we couldn't hit damn near at all and the pitching was enough to make me not even bother watching most games. This team at least seemed to be competitive.

That being said, I'm not giving a defense of why we should keep the guy. As I've stated elsewhere I won't be heartbroken if we move on to someone else. What I'm saying is that the team is at least in a better place than it was 4 years ago. Who takes us to the next level from here I don't know and don't really care so long as we actually get there
