Shocking I know.

Falcons coaching staff up close and personal at the senior bowl also mentioned Cyril Richardson (OG)

If they waste their first pick on a lineman that isn't named Clowney, I'm done with those assholes forever.

Defensive line in the draft (Clowney or Barr)

Offensive line in free agency.

It's not that hard.

Front office carlos on 680 had a rundown recently on offensive linemen in the draft, the overall draft spot and eventual career success had lower correlation than any other position, or some such. I might have heard it wrong. Anyway, i think you draft for the future and sign free agents that are proven for immediate needs. Rolling dice on immediate needs is stupid. You wouldnt put next months mortgage payment in the stock market.

I heard that, if it's the one he did a couple weeks ago. Was it the one where he was talking about the huge drop off between elite prospects and later round success?

Good, if he drop then maybe we will finally get the pick we really need. OL is the single biggest need for this team and has been for a few years. I do not remember the last time we had a LT that you could even called "decent" with a straight face.

Sam Baker is the worst piece of shite OL in the entire league, hopefully we won't have to depend on his sorry arse much longer. The rest of the line is damn near the same quality. Matthew will be a big help, but he isn't a miracle worker. We'll need at least one more good OL later in the draft.

You seem to be under the erroneous impression that we only need 1 or 2 OL this offseason. That should be no problem to get in FA, but I wouldn't want to go fishing for the 5-6 that we actually need just in FA. OL is such a drastic need for this team that we need to exploit both. If an elite OL prospect is sitting there at 6, you get him.

Also, you know damn well we are not going to go get an elite guy in FA on the OL. Skill guy, sure, but not the lines. We never make good moves in FA regarding OL. Talk about rolling the dice, leaving FA moves up to TD regarding OL is much more of a roll of the dice than the draft.

Overrated as f*#k. I do not want to waste our top draft pick on him just because his name is Matthews. He got absolutely OWNED against Sam & Ealy in the Mizzou game and LSU beat him pretty soundly all game. Those were two of the top D's he faced all year and he SUCKED. No thank you.

Yea,Lane Johnson really sucked for the Eagles...nothing wrong with taking an O-lineman
with a top pick if he 's the right one.You
have to eventually get an anchor for the line and
it can't be done with stop-gap measures.

If he can actually block anything at all, then he is an upgrade from what we have now.

He had a poor game? Well get rid of him along with any other player that has ever had a bad game. Not sure who that would actually leave on the board...

Personally I don't give a crap if it is Matthews, it just fricking better be an OT. That is the biggest need on the team and it isn't close. Anything else is a Band-Aid on a severed artery.

Sam or Ealy should be our second round pick, btw, one of them should be there.

The only scenarios that I would be fine drafting Matthews are

A. Clowney is off the board

B. Barr is off the board

C. We are able to trade down and acquire additional picks

With Dimitrioff? You must be new here, TD doesn't trade down.

Game(s)..I personally have yet to see the hype with him. He's listed as a mauler in the run-game..when I watched his games they ran to the left about 2 times and Ealy shedded Matthews like a cheap suit and tackled Malena in the backfield. I just don't see him as any more than average. My point is that he is not worthy of a top 10 pick. If we can get him later then by all means, but he is being WAY overhyped. I'd honestly take Robinson due to his awesome run-blocking and the potential to learn pass-pro at the NFL level. He has more upside. I'd love to see them grab Hageman, Ealy, Sam, Donald, Mack, or any of these guys who just are good, physical football players. The Falcons have too many "nice" guys in the trenches.

I would be totally fine with Barr, guy is one helluva athlete. If I am not mistaken he played some RB and TE at UCLA for a couple years before switching over to LB.

I'm good with Barr. I want Clowney but that won't happen.

Dammit why did we have to swat that 2 point conversion down against Washington? Trufant cost us 4 draft spots and was jumping around celebrating like we won the super bowl
