I find it laughable how some folks from South GA like to find fault with Atlanta

Of course you do.

It’s a natural reaction for the sons and daughters of yankee transplants to feel out of place and unwanted. I take comfort in your post. Because once this type of typical ATL arrogance is finally gone…. we’ll truly be in some deep shite. And I honestly hope I don’t live to see the day.

The part that drives me crazy right now though….is how you latte-drinking $30 dollar haircut frauds in traffic smog ville try to co-opt and bask in the glow from the “acceptable” parts of Southern culture though…while simultaneously shitting on the ones who created it……….and of which you know exactly jack fricking shite about.

Go eat a $20 dollar plate of grits at ATL exit 235 cooked by a new jersey chef and then instagram your relatives back in Wisconsin about peaches. fricking SCUM PIECE SOF FRAUD shite!@@# frickN SKJL:HGI:?g

Lighten up, Francis.

I've lived in GA all of my life. My ancestors fought valiantly for the South in the War of Northern Aggression. I've never paid over $17 for a haircut and I make my own grits, which I eat often. I am very proud of my southern heritage and, indeed, promote it much more than you do. The southern culture that you refer to was represented by a genteel nature, and no southern gentleman would ever quote the words "fricking SCUM PIECE SOF FRAUD shite!@@# frickN SKJL:HGI:?g"

I don't know if you've ever visited Atlanta, but you have a very skewed view of the metro area. There are a lot of transplants like any modern international city. But there are also a lot of native Georgians here. In fact, the vast majority of UGA supporters reside in the metro area.

I don't know where you live or what you do, if anything. But you should be grateful for the tax base of metro Atlanta. Otherwise you'd be living in a mud hut and eating shite sandwiches(maybe you do anyway). And UGA would be a school full of nose-pickers like Valdosta State, Albany State, or Georgia Southern.

Don't call your mother a whore.

Sorry. But, the heart and soul of Southern culture is rural. The end.

It comes from small close knit communities where people with something called “roots” actually know and speak to one another. Not third world godless atl shitholes where frowning assholes road rage on each others bumpers in traffic trying to see who can spend the most on haircuts and sushi before dying of a heart attack with the most starbucks reciepts the quickest.

Cobb dawg. Look in the mirror and realize that you live in a cookie cutter assembly line beehive……A prison basically….that might as well be called San Chicago-york-troit-Zimbabw-exico-lanta. You’re home city is about as Southern as a philly cheese steak with shite chunks and pollution on it. Congrats

JD, I live in Cobb. I have a pond stocked with bass and there are cows on the other side. This ain't exactly NYC. The difference in you and me is that I can be in the city in 30 minutes if I choose to.

I have the best of both worlds. And I'll be happy with it until I retire.

Put it this way. When I travel back home, I see 3x Jags decals/stickers/plates compared to *any* other NFL team. Same thing every time I drive down through Valdosta. I can't speak for every city or every person, but anecdotally, it hasn't been close in my experience. Couple that with a rather strong "anti-Atlanta" sentiment that I've come across with relative frequency when spending time in the lower regions of our state and you have my personal opinion.

Also of note... "more likely" simply implies that there is a greater percentage, not that there are no Falcons fans in south Georgia. Given that I provided 3 teams to 1, one of which is located closer to the bottom quarter of our state (what I would refer to as "South GA") than Atlanta in many cases I'm not sure why this is "complete bullshite".

Whopper is right. This is complete bullshite. Just because your drive by in whatever town you go to might have a couple foreign fans, South Georgia is a Falcons stronghold.

Proud for you.....and your handle. I think a lot of objective folks would disagree with you about Savannah being the greatest city in the south. A lot. I like Savannah. But to even call it a "great city" is a pretty big stretch.

I've lived in several of the places that you mentioned. Grew up in South, GA and had a great childhood. But I wish my parents had moved to Atlanta when they had the opportunity. There's no comparison. South, GA is flat and uninteresting and its full of bible-thumping, hypocritical, backwards Baptists who still don't believe that there were ever dinosaurs. And that a dude built a boat that housed two of every animal on earth. I bet you do as well.

The intellectual gene pool of South, GA is way too shallow for me. There are good folks there as anywhere. But I much prefer North, GA. The Coastal Plains are just that. Plain.

Interesting thought process you've got going on here. I happen to be southern Baptist and I also happen to believe in the existence of dinosaurs. Imagine that. I'm also pretty open to aliens, too. Who'd a thunk it?

You seem to paint with a broad brush. Unfortunately, you're missing some of the individual, distinctive character that exists under what you're painting.

You may be happy with yourself since you're not a "hypocrite" (which is also highly unlikely to be an actual trait of ANY human being on earth, regardless of belief system), but as the old saying goes: I'd rather live like there was a God and die to find out there isn't than to live like there isn't and die to find out that there is. But if it makes you feel better that you aren't a "Bible-thumper"...

If you've never lived anywhere else and experienced different places, you think where you are is better. Comparing Blackshear and Tifton to Marietta, Kennesaw, Acworth, etc. is ...........well it's just stupid. There is no comparison except y'all get to eat gnats all summer and we don't.

Falcons > Jags
Georgia > Florida.

If you want to be a Floridian, go ahead and pull the trigger. Don't be a half-arse.
