Don't get me wrong. I think Richt is a splendid even great man in his personal life.

But to see this game tumble into disaster with no discernible emotion is beyond me. I mean none.

I just don't get it, and at some level that translates to your football team, it just has to.

I have adjusted my expectations to 8 to 10 wins a season and a FLA bowl, but this game really cut me off at the knees. To be this outclassed, out coached, outplayed and out motivated is just mind boggling.

Now I don't think Richt should be fired, and I certainly don't think he will be. But it is pretty tempting to think about a new coach. After this, anyone with any sense will temper their expectations to the above, and quit talking/thinking NC and even SECC. And the recruits should too.

And that's too bad. We deserve better.

I would have hoped for Pruitt to take the helm from Richt, bit right now how his defense was just as embarrassing as anything else. frick this whole coaching staff.

I think the thing people forget when they say "But hey! What about what happened to Tennessee!?" is that coaching in Georgia has all the advantages a capable coach could need.

No need to go out of the state for talent and you play in the weak Eastern SEC conference.

It's no different than trying to dump a girlfriend who is a good person but you know in your heart won't make you happy. Richt's not going anywhere, but it's always tempting to think about.

And there is our defense talking trash, and LC7 bobbing his head and such.

Sheesh.

I am surprised how out coached we were in this game. I thought the oc and DC were better than this. I was very wrong.

Why should he get upset? He's going to get paid and there is no threat of him losing his job. Are just now after 15 years figuring out he doesnt care about winning?

Exactly, he's been doing this for a long time. Our fan base is content with dropping the big games as long as we win 9 games a season.

The athletic administration and our no balls fan base are the problem.

if fans start calling for heads, stop going to games, etc. the admin will start to warm the seat up.

But it'll never happen. We have a great guy for a coach and he averages 9 wins a season. So he's safe.

No. If you check my posts I have been on this bandwagon for years. For about 10 years really when he promoted 1/4 Willie to DC.

But this game more than any other in recent memory, with the anointed Pruitt and the NFL squatter, really brought home the fact that against the elite college football programs in meaningful games, we can't get it done.

I thought we had a shot or at least would show up at home. Didn't. Embarrassing. And while it doesn't put the program in a different national light, it does SIGNIFICANTLY reinforce that we are at best second tier in the SEC and probably worse nationally.

youre a fricking fool, if you dont think he cares about winning. He has enough money to retire and do whateer he wants for the rest of his life. He doesnt stay here for the money. He wants to win more-so than you, I bet.

Why doesn't he get out of the way and go coach high school ball where he can actually compete.

UT has one of the highest recruiting budgets in America per an interview with their AD. They can't get enough talent out of the state and have to hit Cali, Florida, texas, and Georgia. A good coach can come in here and win right away. Richt's been over his head since 2001, he's just had a LOT of TALENT at his disposal. After tonight he can go and take Shitenheimer with him.

If this is true, he has had more than enough time to prove himself capable of it, and we are no nearer to greatness now than we were when Bama started their dynasty against us...on our home field...7 years ago.

Hes not capable and his will and desire to win are clearly not enough to overcome his deficiencies as a CEO.

Disagree if you like, and I know you will, but the proof is in the pudding, and we have tons and tons of inedible pudding in the warehouse.

It is called $3.3mm a year. Yeah, I'd stay. Probably a raise in his near future given what the other SEC coaches are making - I would say to $4mm at least.

Plus the perks. Radio, clothes, cars.

Hell when I was in the new car business many decades ago, we GAVE 2 cars a year....................to the tight end coach.

Got good seats though.

Think about it.

Exactly. Maybe even these guys can't carry CMR's softness. CMR will not win another SECC.

The fact of the matter is simple:

In the first years of his career, if you were a coach, Richt was a guy you didn't want to see on the other sideline for a big game. You might beat him, but you'd have to work for it.

In the last 8 years or so, he is absolutely one of the guys you want on the other sideline for a big game. You might lose to him, but you'll have to work for it.
