Did you see his punt? We could've used that...

Shut up. We recruited him as a qb.

Not until it was way too late, and we would have tried to pigeon-hole him into a typical pro-style QB.

Watson would've been wasted here, tbh. Maybe would've gotten us a few more wins but we didn't have any receivers that could haul in his passes to let him do his thing.

WR recruiting dropped off big time after 2011 when we got Mitchell and Conley.

iMac was the most productive receiver we've had in the last 5 classes and most of it came last season.

We recruited him the whole time as a qb. We offered late like we did on a good number of players under Richt but the man recruited him as a qb.

Radi noted that there were 28 players from GA on both teams last night....and 6 starters. Anyone still grumbling about winning 10 games per year doesn't get it.

How is Trevor Lawrence any different?

IIRC Ramsey was a class before watson so there's that. Also Ramsey was a high 4*, 95 grade on 247, a top 100 national player and the 6th ranked pro-style QB in HS.

Obviously he didn't pan out, but it's not like we chose some 3* dud over watson...hindsight is always 20/20 and at the time we felt comfortable with ramsey. Sure it sucks that things went about as poorly as we could have hoped with both of their trajectories, but I don't understand what people try to accomplish with retarded threads like this.

Georgia is literally doing everything it can to sign Trevor Lawrence. That's the difference.

Not to mention that the offense run for Watson at Clemson is completely different than the offense we run. I highly doubt Bobo would've switched to a spread-option just for Watson, and he wouldn't have thrived as much under a pro-style, IMO.

Like other guys that we've missed on, Lawrence just felt better with Clemson, and that happens. They went from Tajh Boyd to Deshaun Watson, so QBs are finding success under Dabo. Plus, Dabo is a damn good recruiter. He gives off that aw shucks, family, christian vibe that recruits and families fall in love with. We tried, and tried hard, but it wasnt in the cards.

Its not like when we recruited Watson, and we didnt even offer until the end of his junior year, after he made a relationship with Clemson. Or Cam Newton, who we offered as a TE.

The program has made its mistakes in the past when it comes to players, but losing on Lawrence was nothing more than him liking Clemson more.

We still have Eason for 2 more year, and hopefully Fromm for 4 more. We are a little behind when it comes to QB recruits in 2018 because we put everything in on Lawrence, but with the way our staff recruits, Im sure we will be able to bring in another good recruit that class, and the years after.
