Yep, you knew it was coming. Next weeks game is a scrimmage playing the starters for a couple of starters. Verses Auburn Gurley and Bennett should be healthier with Conley back. Bennett looked good and confident with the exception of the one dropped pass. I personally was impressed with our overall defense. We may be back to offensive form to light up Auburn.

Do you honestly think we can stop Auburn. The game might be a blowout not in our favor.

You do realize UFs offense is one of the most anemic offenses in the country?

We definately have the talent to beat the hell out of Auburn, the coaching staff or lack there of is another item all together.

True - our offense will likely be in a much better place 2 weeks from now.

However Florida's offense was ranked in the bottom ten nationally. It's our defense (as usual) that I'll be worried about in that game. But we can always hope that by the 9th game of the season, the defense will have a clue.

2 be fair, I thought Grantham had some nice blitzes in the 4th quarter. We had several untouched blitzes that just didn't end up in the favor of UGA. That play by Wilson being the one that could have easily been a fumble. shite just didn't break the way it could have. That being said, the team still has zero clue what to do on a read option.

AU is a fraud... With Gurley 100% I have no doubt we kick their arse for the 2nd year in a row in their house... Still pisses me off they aren't coming to Athens this year.... Onward

We'll have to score in the mid 40's to win it.

We need to turn Murray lose (like the FL 1st half). Score, score and score again - touchdowns - and don't attempt any field goals unless it's 4th and long.

We need a high-scoring mentality - because AU will score high 30's low 40's too. It's not a secret to anyone that our defense is going to allow a ton of points.

Any type of conservative mentality will make us lose this game.

These AU fans seems to be as obnoxious as TN fans.

Any team on the rise is a pain in the arse. We seriously need the least amount of conservative play calling as possible.

It's gonna be a pretty tall order to go take the series lead on the plains, that's for sure. Don't have any faith in our defense or STs and idk if the offense has enough in the tank to outscore Marshall and Mason.

I think we'll score a bunch of points. We always play well on the plains, even in 2010. I expect a 42-38 type game with it going either way.

It'll be a good game for sure. I think some people will be shocked at the line when it comes out next week. Auburn will be a small favorite due to being at home, but I think we come out loose and take a lead on them. Now we obviously know that this year's team can struggle with a 2nd half lead so I won't predict a win, but we can hang with these guys.

Also keep in mind that the strength of Auburn's team is running. We defend the run way better than the pass so I like our chances of playing better on Defense vs. Auburn and Georgia Tech.

That we do. I'm so worried about those double play action passes when they've got a guy in motion fake to him, turn around fake to the back and then they've got a guy running wide open down the middle.

Not defending Grantham but this stat caught me by surprise too....

quote:

Believe it or not -- and the fourth-year coordinator's detractors within Georgia's fan base will likely be stunned by this revelation -- Georgia has held all but one opponent (Tennessee) below its season average for total offense. And after yielding 400-plus yards in four of the first five games, the Bulldogs have held their last three opponents below the 400-yard mark and to an average of 68.5 yards per game below their season averages.

They're dead last in the SEC in scoring defense (31.6 ppg), however, in part because of frequent special-teams meltdowns and offensive mistakes deep in Georgia territory.

TDs vs. UGA offense/special teams: 4
TD drives of 20 yards or less: 4
TD drives of 40 yards or less: 6
TD drives of 50 yards or less: 7

So Grantham will be back next year barring a return to the NFL ranks. I don't see him being canned this year unless we get smoked by both Auburn or Tech.

That doesn't help my Grantham sucks argument as much as I'd want. Dammit Dallas.
