And, it looks like CTG isn't going anywhere either.

I heard Richt was going to Honduras in the offseason to help the world's less fortunate.

Rumor has it CTG is going to Krystal's everyday for lunch and polishing off a steamer pack by himself.

I get it.

What's the percentage chance that Randy Shannon is the next defensive coordinator?

50%?

We know. That's why the program is the way it is.

I'd say 57.75% chance Grantham is fired. 0% chance that Shannon would be hired.

Would only be a guess at this point.

If we beat FLA and then win out- and depending on how we win (I.e. the defense looks like it hasn't all year and does something)- and Mizz loses two more, then we go to SECCG and do well or (FROZEN HELLs) win, then he isn't going anywhere.

However, if we lose to FLA because of coverage issues, etc. he may be gone by GA Tech. Especially if we lose anymore after FLA.

There's a difference in what the stats show and what the fans scream and right now Richt isn't going to fire him just because his fans are screaming especially with a freshman class.

With all due respect and I do mean all due respect unless the defense improves alot Grantham deserves to be fired.

And I don't want Mark to be fired; I just want him to improve as a personnel manager including hiring a proven DC.

Not so sure about Grantham. Wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the NFL on his own volition.

Grantham is probably 85-90% staying at UGA next season. I don't like him at all...never have. CMR has peaked...and he isn't going to do any more for UGA than what we've already seen. But, he's not going anywhere. I'm ready for a change, but last time I checked, no one has called me asking for my opinion.

Yep, we have covered this ground before many times. CMR is the near ideal UGA coach from the perspective of our admins. The guy brings a great positive public relations image to our university and is a solid but not great coach. Mark wins enough to keep the money rolling in so from a cost/benefit view our admins likely consider him optimal.

Hope springs eternal that CMR will one day put it all together and develop a NC caliber team. That won't happen with the defenses we have had during most of Mark's tenure. I see Richt's need for improvement as:
1. Better roster management. Maintain a full and balanced roster. Make enough optional scholarship offers to allow for missed recruiting and all forms of attrition.
2. Hire a proven DC and give him autonomy over the defense.
3. Recruit better in the trenches and on defense in general especially in the secondary. We have had weak DB's far too often with Richt at the helm.
4. Hire a special teams coordinator who builds a world class special teams unit that players want to be part of.

There is no excuse for Todd Grantham and the defensive staff; look no further than 2009 and 2010 Alabama. 2009 Alabama featured an SEC-caliber defense, it was pretty good; some may call it elite. 2010 Alabama only returned 2 starters from 2009 and had to deal with various players being injured, yet they weren't anywhere near as bad as Georgia and LSU this season. 2010 underachieved during the regular season, but they were still respectable. When the 2010 Alabama defense was healthy and gave it their all, they embarrassed Big 10 co-champion Michigan State 49-7.

We know. But it doesn't hurt to dream. You know, like the Disneys do for a national championship under him?
