They play in a cupcake league and only play like two difficult games per year. Bama is still much better than them

Has to be sarcasm. They beat Bama and won the national title. How can they be overrated?

If anything, it's Bama that was overrated because they only had to play 2 difficult games last year.

Literally the only 2 teams that really tested them were Ole Miss (they allowed 43 points) and LSU (they scored 10).

Their QB is overrated, IMO, but their team isn't.

Their defense is what got them where they were. So many defensive TDs and TOs that put the offense in great position to score points. Their running game was good, too, but their defense getting scorched by Clemson was the reason they lost last night. Their biggest strength had a tough time and they lost the championship because of it.

D Watson is a very great college QB...think Cam Newton. The dude just took over the game last night. Bama's d is great, but players like that are special.

Bamas offense, ont he other hand, needs work before next season or they will not make the playoff.

I should have specified that I was talking about Bama and that their QB is overrated.

I agree completely that Watson won that game for Clemson. He was able to scramble out of the pocket and find receivers when they were initially covered. He's got wheels and a good, accurate arm. He also made good decisions for most of the night.

Clemson is legit. I'm curious to see how they do with Watson gone, though, as someone like him or Cam tend to carry the team.

So then why do I remember Watson throwing a game winning pass last night?

You're a dumbass.

They just beat the last 7 national champions in a single season, two of those being SEC west teams (one of whom is THE reason the SEC even looks as good as it does).

Put the pipe down, Clemson beat several really good teams including Bama. They earned every bit of their rating.

Pushing Kiffin out was the dumbest move Saban ever made. He was not perfect but consistency was more important for the most important game of the year. Sark will likely be better over a long period, but for one game at the end of the year for all the marbles, you don't change play callers.

Crap. I was wondering! It killed Alabama that they could not throw the ball down the field, yet kept trying to. I think they should have stuck with their power running game more. It seemed whenever Clemson would stop the run, Alabama would abandon it and start throwing the ball. Sark had no confidence in their running game for some reason. I get that Scarbourough got injured, but they still had some success with Harris and the other kid.

But, yeah, Hurts is going to have to work hard to overcome his accuracy issues....as will Eason.

In fairness.....Auburn wasn't very good and neither was Ohio State. Florida State was pretty good, but not National Champion good. And Alabama makes up the rest of those "last 7 National Champions".

Clemson was probably the best team in the nation. They were very good. Excellent QB, WR's and a very strong defense. But they were only a hair better than Alabama, and I would bet Alabama MIGHT beat them 3 out of the next 4 times if they played a best of five.

True, yet they were touted as the second best team in the SEC.

and neither was Ohio State.

Gonna have to disagree with this. That team probably didn't deserve a shot at the CFP, but they lost one game versus PSU's two. It is what it is. Clemson beating them in the fashion that they did was pretty damned impressive. It's still an Urban Meyer coached team with a massive amount of talent.

I'm not sure they were the second best SEC team in a year in which the SEC was pretty bad, though.

I'm not arguing that they should or should not have gone. I'm arguing that they were not nearly as good as they were thought to be. None of the Big 10 was, really.

All I am saying is that it sounds great to say they "beat the last 7 National Champions"....but the only really good team they beat was Alabama. They deserve the title, don't get me wrong.
But just because the teams won titles in the past does not mean they have good teams this year.
