Stem cell treatment has taken off lately because docs figured out how to harvest the cells from bone marrow and umbilical cords. Embryonic stem cells are rarely if ever used anymore. If I had to guess, I would assume Nick got some stem cell injections in addition to PRP injections, which are actually taken from his own blood.

Source: work in Ortho on the device side.

This is good intel. Thank you.

The US is actually late to the game on some of this stuff. This is why Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, and others go over to Germany to get shots.

The Europeans use horse placenta. That's pretty unamerican.

Look at it this way, Jeff. Those babies likely would have grown up to be thrown in prison or sucking dick for drugs. Now, with their cells in Nick Chubb's knee, they get to be a part of something special. They live on through Nick Chubb. It's the circle of life.

And grown up on welfare costing taxpayers like Jeff more money.

I didn't think we had enough OT threads on the first page (6) just 2 weeks from the opening game, glad Jefferson could derail this thread to surely make it 8 pages of stem cell debate.

Not shocked at how clueless you are.

Not just the stem cells, you must have the silver ions from the vet hospital as well.

And the stems cells used are cloned from fetal stem cells that have been around for decades. Clones of aborted child, so no soul to worry about.

It's got nothing to do with that. The kid is a freak. Muscularly he's a beast. His ligaments are just regular old ligaments. If he ends up starting the UNC game it's more a testament to modern medicine than anything else. Not taking anything away from Chubb - I can't wait to have him back and the kid has worked his arse off to get back but if his ligaments are ready by September 3, that's Dr. Andrews.

I disagree completely. No one else could have had that injury and recovered at the pace he did.

Cloned or not, an unborn child had to be killed at some point along the line.

Thought we were out of the woods, but this is evil again. Also, what does the vet school have to do with it? This sucks.

Adrian Peterson and Todd Gurley come to mind. And you said an ACL is worse...so...

Either way I'm more than happy to be wrong about him coming back early. I just hope he doesn't come back too early and damage it again.

Jefferson, use your brain for once. Not every fetus that dies was killed. Fetuses, like people, sometimes die of their own accord and in the USA they die at a relatively high rate compared to other developed countries.

You're assuming that Jeff pays taxes and isn't out living off the fat of the land, killing innocent chickens and goats for his sustainence. I saw him once in Midtown selling flowers on the street corner. Said he'd love to stay if he could afford the rent.

They should have allowed UGA fans to donate their unborn fetii to give much needed stem cells to Chubb's knee. I can't think of a better way to get rid of those inconvenient post coital growths AND help UGA win.

It's fetuses not feti. How many fetuses does it take to make a knee? How many fetuses are needed to replenish Jefferson's brain cellls?
