I also like that it is an affordable option for kids to learn to play.

I was there for a wedding a few years ago. Stayed at the Holiday Inn off 17. Wedding was at an old plantation taking 17 south out of the city. It took us damn near an hour to get there. Wedding was 15 miles from the hotel.

Savannah area: Pay attention! You are next..

We planned much better for it. We put shiny things like outlet malls west of Savannah in Pooler by the airport and the Yankees don't know that they are still 45 minutes to the water.

My point is that the Yankees that have moved to the Savannah area all live and work west of Savannah and we have kept them largely away from Savannah proper and Tybee.

Try hiring semi skilled labor there now tho... or even skilled. No one wants to do it or can stay off drugs long enough to do any of the good jobs there.

Welcome to labor markets everywhere! Especially in the construction trade. It's a fricking revolving door.

I was in Charleston in February and absolutely loved it. North Charleston is where I stayed for work. Drove into downtown several times. It's fine. still enjoyable.

Now go to Clearwater Beach on a weekend day in the summer.....frick me running...that shite was horrible.

Places like Sullivan's and Folly on holiday weekends are absolute shite shows due to the number of people trying to get on and off the island. Downtown is crowded but usually fine, unless you're a person who insists on driving everywhere. We have some friends who live on the peninsula and it's wildly expensive, but it's also some of the most in-demand real estate in the US. Granted, they say Charleston is due for the next "big one" (earthquake) soon...

It's happening in Beaufort as well. They've ruined Hilton Head and Bluffton already. I'm old...I remember the old Hilton Head and it was awesome. If they f'up Fripp and Edislow it's time to secede once again.

The Gullah folks seem serious out on St. Helena about not selling off their land Jefferson. We go to Fripp a few times every year and it's amazing how far down 21 businesses have gotten now until you hit the little bridge going on to St. Helena. That's where my vacation starts. Im 52 and have been going to Fripp since I was 10 or 11.

Ted Turner owns a bunch of that land too. I know a dude who's been a fishing guide around there over 30 years and he says the Turners used to throw big New World Order Illuminati parties out on their private island and hunt Gullahs for sport and do all kinds of satanic rituals.

He donated a bunch of land back to the Gullahs a while back as supposedly a good deed charity thing. But it waas probably just a pay-off to keep them quiet about all that evil stuff though.
