Last Saturday morning before the Auburn game I was walking in the park near Ghiradelli Square when I saw an older man sitting on a park bench. He was wearing a red jacket with a Georgia "G" on it.

I walked over to him and began singing "Glory, Glory to old Georgia" to him.

At first he seemed a little nervous but after I told him that I was a Georgia fan and went to UGA we began to talk about Gurley playing that day and how exciting the game was going to be. We ended up talking for over an hour about Georgia football and living in Georgia.

He said he was in SF with his wife for a wedding and was going to be able to watch only the first half before he had to go to the wedding.

It was really great to talk to a fellow member of the Dawg Nation because most of the time I can't talk to anyone about UGA football.

I'm sure he had a great time at the wedding reception.

You're damn right I went over to him and sang, "Glory, Glory to Old Georgia".

Whenever I see someone wearing a Georgia hat or jacket I go out of my way to talk to them.

I sang "Glory, Glory to Old Georgia" to him because it was a way to let him know that I'm also a Georgia Bulldog fan.

I'm proud to be a graduate of UGA and a Dawg fan and I have earned the right to let other Dawg fans visiting SF know that I'm also a Dawg fan.

If that bothers you then it makes me feel even better that I did it.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha...............

I believe 100% that you did, in fact, do this.

Dude should have avoided eye contact with you, got up, and walked off at a brisk pace.....

This Georgia man now has an epic story to tell at every tailgate he goes to for the rest of his life..........

"Hey. I ever tell y'all about the time some street nut in San Francisco serenaded me with "Glory Glory"?................."

That's just too fricking weird. Instead of singing a song to another grown man, how about a "how bout them dawgs?"

Jesus, I would have smacked you if you approached me and started singing

Well, he didn't and after we talked for over an hour he shook my hand and thanked me for stopping and talking to him.

He said he didn't think there would be any Dawg fans in California and that I made his morning enjoyable.

I said, "How 'bout them Dawgs?" right after I sang "Glory, Glory to Old Georgia".

You couldn't afford to come to SF let alone spend one day here.

Now I'm curious. As you began to woo this other man with song, what was he doing? Like after you began to sing, did he lock eyes with you the whole time, smile and nod along, sing accompanying vocals? I need to know.

When we parted ways he thanked me for cheering him up because if he was back home in Georgia he would have been at the game.

The last thing we said to each other was, "go dawgs".

Nah, he said he was going to go back to the hotel to tell his wife who also went to UGA that he met another Dawg fan and that when he got back to Georgia he was going to tell his fellow Dawg friends what a great time he had in SF talking to a Dawg fan that lived there.

Geez, y'all are pathetic this morning.
