C'mon guy, were we not all excited to get Langley, Wiggins, Swann, JHC, and Tray Matthews? We weren't the only team hard after them. Maybe he didn't coach'm up, but we do employ DB coaches as well.

Sure, but it's not their job to get players we were all excited about. It's their job to get the best players.

If we don't have good players in the secondary (not saying that's the case), there are two possible reasons: we didn't evaluate/recruit well enough, or we didn't develop well enough. Both of those fall on the previous defensive staff.

Then that would imply that Todd Grantham wasn't all that bad

I don't think he was. His demeanor on the sidelines changed every season. Seasons one and two he was fiery and his last two seasons he looked a bit like he didn't give half a frick. He may be successful in a different environment.

Davis is not your average Walkon... Kid was a beast in HS and injured his ACL twice which took him out of the recruiting cycle. The kid loves the Dawgs and working hard to get a spot. Isn't this what we want???

Besides wouldn't you work harder if you thought you were going to lose your job to a walk on?

I just think we are getting ahead of ourselves here. If this Redd guy can play, he can play, its just hard to imagine right now with the talent I think we have. Our young guys should be ok this year. We have enough to chose from.

Talent we have now? at Safety? maybe when the recruits come in but not much talent there besides Matthews.

Not sure, but for as many CB's as we have some of them have to be thinking of a move to safety. Even with the addition of Tramel Terry, we only have a couple JC transfers (which sounds nice) but our JC guys don't seem to ever pan out.

This is one of the shittier threads i've read today. I'm glad we've got kids that weren't given a damn thing, working their asses off for a chance to play for this program.

Your point is admirable, but this isn't the "Replacements".
