College football can definitely be dirty, but it was definitely dirtier in the 80s than now.

Rather not name names...one had a brother who played and a sister who was a cheerleader...another was db who was JC transfer...not surd if they played together.
I can tell you a story about a guy who DIDN'T sign with us but still took the money.
Ironically his Son is one of the top OL prospects in the country who's committed to A&M

What kind of person slips $500 dollars into a locker or sends players $200 checks from Texas? 
In other words, what kind of empty shallow person feels the need to buy the admiration of 18-22 year old meatheads? Or do they feel that they are actually helping the program?(if this stuff is even true)

I went to a directional school that was terrible at sports and the players there got paid by boosters so I would imagine that it goes on at big time colleges.
I think it's probably both types. Some guys want to help the program and some are just jock sniffers who were never any good at football themselves.

No...1st person I mentioned should be easy for you.I dont think yo know the 2nd DB.He wasn't highly recruited and is white.

So, guys playing for a notoriously corrupt program in a city that was literally drowning in cocaine money got paid a lot? I'm almost as shocked as Captain Renault upon finding out that there was gambling at Rick's.

Everyone else on this thread at the very least thinks what I posted is worth discussion, so you sir are on an island with your suggestion. Screw it - expand DI to 256 teams, and then let 'er rip with a full 128 team bracket playoff. Provo, Utah, needs a bowl game as badly as anyone, right?
