“It was everything I thought it would be, but I never played against a team with speed like that,” Wimbush said. “All 11 positions, all the guys were really physical and had speed. That was a little different. It’s hard to emulate that during the week, but our scout guys do the best job they can do.”

Interesting comment considering the 2 teams are obviously very evenly matched.

Not really. That game should have been something like 31-10 but for the penalties and dropped passes.

Well Wimbush plays on offense, and their offense definitely wasn't evenly matched with our defense.

Personally, I'm shocked and amazed that Wimbush seems to be the first DT QB we've faced in what feels like ages that didn't run us to death.

True. But the answer was always about outside edge containment.
Our defense is amazing so far.

I thought Ap State's QB could also gash teams with the run. We held him in check as well.

Nah, we shot ourselves many times. But we were clearly the better team. I don't think ND had a scoring drive that didn't include a penalty giving them a 1st down after we stopped them.

Blaming his scout team, what a dirt bag.

We are only the 2nd college team he has ever played against

Played some is Freshman year (not much)I'm also assuming he saw plenty of reps as scout QB vs the ND
1st defense.

But the point still stands. It is a small sample size.

True, but their All-World LT said the same thing. That's much higher praise to me.

Yea I have to agree, it made me feel so much better about our line when I saw them dominate ND's line

I listened to the interview. It didn't sound like he was blaming them. Sounded like he was just saying that despite the scout teams best efforts, the couldn't emulate what UGA brought to town.

Sounds like a bright young man who has personal accountability. He also took the blame for the game deciding sack because it was his responsibility to get them in the right protection. Honestly, I think Bellamy beats McGlinchy like a rented mule no matter what protection they call there, but the young man threw himself under the bus instead of pointing fingers at his All-American LT. He's a class act.

I'd dare say there may be a few defenses as fast, but not any faster than this one.
