Will Friend built a top tier OL and you had Todd Gurley. Easy to look like a genius with those two pieces in place.

If the question is Bobo vs Fat Chaney then I'm all Bobo.

But let's not get carried away with the idea that Bobo was or is some kind of offensive genius.

Well,he is and he was. He could move defenses around to his liking better than any coordinator I have seen at UGA. A bunch of those 3rd and 10 runs up the middle broke for big yards. It's the ones that didn't seem to remember. Still, they were useful in making a defense honest. He played several Muschamp teams in different years and made him look silly. Some fans thought anybody with UGA's talent could score more than 30 points a game and are now finding out it is not so easy.

Bobo was an offensive genius.

That's not a huge sample size.

Sometimes I think you're contrarian just for the hell of it.

Maybe it is age? I remember Blow-Bo got that nick name for a reason. He had some good years toward the end, and jumped for an HC job while the iron was hot, smartly.

Bobo played A gap and off-tackle football, the craziest play he ever dialed up was a reverse. He didn't invent or re-invent anything. He played plain old fashioned football, and when the OL was playing good, the whole offense played good.

He was also a good recruiter.

Overall, he was and is a good Offensive Coordinator.

But he isn't a genius, he isn't innovative, and he's a well paid head coach at Colorado State in a wonderful town like Breckinridge where Andy Griffith is the sheriff, Gomer is the idiot savant mechanic down at the service station where they always have a smile on their face, and Otis the Drunk turns himself in every Saturday night. So none of this shite even matters.

No, I remember him being predictable early on but his last few years were brilliant.

Gurley toss sweep?

Murray back shoulder throw?

I think I remember a tight end caught a pass in the back of the end zone one time... blew my fricking mind.

He scored a record number of points and you are complaining about the style? He did have a halfback pass in there.

Bobo also showed he could go up tempo when needed later in his career as well...

Obviously having Murray, Gurley, AJ, Chubb, MM didn't hurt. Also Friend was underrated as an OL coach IMO. Bobo also was a pretty good QB coach as well evidenced by his success with Stafford and Murray. I bet he had plans for Ramsey too before he left.

I definitely criticized Bobo here and there but his overall results for the last several years before leaving were indisputable.
