Cash is tight but I could probably go to the Auburn or Tennessee game. It's 7 hours from my place to Knoxville and 5.5 to Auburn. Don't think I could afford to stay in either city for the game. Just tailgate and game. Which is the better value.

Are you looking for the best game environment or the most fun the night before?

Jax
Vandy
Barn
Knox

In that order.

Never been to Red Stick, but so far Lexington is my favorite. Been several times.

Great trip.

You should go instead, to whichever columbia is hosting "Clean Old-Fashioned Meh" this year.

Usce will be wearing special uniforms to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their first ever bowl win....

Well, I probably can't afford to stay anywhere the night before. I live near Jax so I get a ride to the game. It's not an away game for me.

I'm sure Nashville could be fun, but really, if I'm going to the game, I can't justify spending money for that reason.

Since you aren't staying the night, why don't you just play it by ear. You'll don't need to plan hotel arrangements in advance.

They're two huge games (Tenn & Barn). If we beat Bama, i'd do everything in my power to be at Tenn the next week. If the season goes to shite, the Auburn game will be a wash anyway.

That's the ideal situation, but planning in advance is kinda needed for me. I make my schedules a month and 1/2 in advance and I need to budget and I need to find friends to stay with. I'm still working it out. Just trying to get impressions.

I'm drunk FWIW.

For the tailgate and game experience I would recommend Auburn or Tennessee. Both are a long drive round trip in one day with 4 hours for a game in between.
For a weekend trip Vandy is best because Nashville has a good dining and bar scene.

I'm going to the Vandy game. Everyone I talked to says it's an awesome place for a game and there is a lot of UGA fans that make the trip. But if u aren't going to stay the night i would try to go to that Tenn game. It's going to be awesome breaking 110,000 hearts and I would love to see their faces leaving the stadium with a lossl

If you're damned and determined to do a game this year, then do Auburn. It's a shorter drive which means less gas and since you're not staying the night, the trip won't be as long.

My advice would be to skip road trips for this year and plan one for next season. If you haven't been, I'd recommend going for the game in Oxford. Plan it out so that you can book a hotel in town and all that and make a weekend out of it. You won't regret it.

If your only options are just AU and UT, go to Auburn. It's one of my favorite trips.

If you do it completely right, you might have more fun in knoxville, especially if you aren't going to the game and just tailgating. Calhoun's will be packed with dawg fans and that's where the vol navy parks. If you are personable you can maybe work your way onto a boat and chill there. However, that doesnt' really give you a campus experience.

Auburn doesn't really have one particular spot to hit like knoxville does, but it's a better setting. Weather won't be as nice as in knoxville, but you get a campus feel and I feel like the overall atmosphehre will be better for the game. Plus it's closer to you.

look at Air BnB. I wasn't really familiar with them until this week but I'll never stay in a hotel again. Ok that's not true. But they're legit.

I decided to go to the OSU/MSU game in november and I found a place on air bnb for $68 for 2 nights, 1.5 miles from the stadium. If you're going solo or with 1 other person, I'd definitely look at air bnb instead of a hotel.

Yeah, I've looked at air bnb. I'm trying to find a cheap house for the Bama game on air bnb. The thing with athens is I could probably stay with people for free but I'm sick of being a guest when in athens. I guess that sounds bad but I've definitly been locked out and had to sleep on campus on two separate occasions by two seperate people because they forgot I was staying with them. One guy protests me bringing beer into his house on a fricking gameday.
