Back when I was in school, there was a burrito place called Jamburritos on the east side. That place had the best burritos of any burrito shop I can recall. It was like $5 for a burrito that was so huge you'd have to have half for lunch and half for dinner.
I miss the old Blue Sky, but i like the bar/coffee shop that popped up in it's place. It was nice getting a great irish coffee before the GT game.
Is Charlie William's Pinecrest Lodge still around? The buffet where everything was fried? That place was awesome.
I also loved the hibachi express. Nothing like steak fried rice after a night of drinking, and loading up on the cream sauce. My gawd.

I'm a senior but we lost Gumbys in my time here. 
Thankfully it lasted throughout my time at Russell but its some shitty pizza place now.

Dumbass owners should have bought the building, instead they let rent go up 62,000% over 15 years. Kind of hard to pay $3500 monthly lease with $5 extra large pizza and 25 cent pbr.

Don't recall the name, but there was this little greasy spoon on the backside of downtown where we would go to eat if we were still able. The old man working the grill cussed you out whenever you spoke to him, and we thought it was funny as shite because it was.

Cali N Titos is one of the coolest restaurants I've ever been to. Love the atmosphere (even those big fricking birds). I went to Sr. Sol and didn't like the cheese dip - that's enough to ruin a mexi place for me.

I don't get the hype over Cali N Titos. To me its overpriced and the portions are just enough to fill the first stomach of a DG.

It's overpriced because it's cash only, everything seems more expensive when you can't just swipe a card.
And like what's his name said, BYOB.
The only complaint is they are a little slow, so don't go there in a hurry for a quick lunch.
Another complaint is that kids run around that place like there is no such thing as child-snatchers, running around screaming like a McDonald's playground on weekend lunchtime. Always do a drive-by for the kid situation. I fricking hate children.
But that Cuban Especial is just ridiculous, the fried plantains, the eye candy, the proximity to Sanford on G-Day, the BYOB policy, no other Spic place can beat it in Athens, and believe me, I've been to them all ... since 1996.
