I sure do..... I miss Larry so much.... I no longer carry headphones into the stadium.... Larry was one of my childhood heroes.... He really was.... He brought UGA football to me in a way that really made me feel like I was there... Like I was in the game itself...

Love that video. That LSU game was an unbelievable day. Sad how the rest of that season went.

Easily the best video our video crew has made. And that's saying something

When I was in grad school in Connecticut I would go to a buddys fathers office and a friend in Atlanta would call the 800 number and put the phone by the receiver and we would listen to Munson call the game live. I felt like he was calling it just for us.

I was glad we made the trip to that game against LSU. Went with two LSU fans and had to listen to them the whole ride up there talk about how great they were and how we haven't been tested yet. It was great driving home Sunday for those 8 hours even if it was in silence. But I was happy and drove the whole way back.
I only got to listen to Larry a few times later in his career but he was special and I'm grateful I did get to hear him. It's sad that younger dawg generation even younger than me won't be able to hear his voice but his legend will grow on forever

Larry came to Ga about the time I started really following GA football so he was really the only announcer I had ever known. Like some others, can't listen to the games on radio any more because its just not the same. What a bunch of great calls.

In the Munson days, you could actually turn on the radio and watch (the few) games on tv. Now the delay between radio and tv is as much as 10 seconds.

I didn't figure it out until the end of this year, but there's a way around this if you have fancy cable like Comcast.

Just hit the pause button, then wait however long you estimate the delay to be, then hit play again.

Boom. You're synced. It goes back to live tv if you happen to change a channel to check another game though.

Edit: Actually that might not work for radio. I use this method to sync the inside tv to the back deck tv which is through Apple TV which is behind the cable broadcast. Radio is ahead of the cable tv broadcast I believe.

That LSU game was probably the last game where we won a game that we shouldn't. We pretty much got pasted in every big game since that time.

Larry Munson was what made UGA football great. I can vivildy remember the day when TV was a treat and the vast majority of games were only heard on radio and Munson was UGA football. The number of days I have spent with my father working on a car or fishing or in deer camp in the fall or on a dove field with Munson in the background can't be counted. There is a lot less to like about college football with the demise of the radio broadcast and the Larry Munson's of the world being replaced by TV.

And that LSU game may be the best game I ever attended! I don't get to many any more but that one was special!
