Because the whole "oooohh we're wearing BLACK because it's super cool and we're serious now!" is as cliche as it gets. It's fake juice and a distraction pure and simple.

Secondly, about 3 times a year a group of folks start stroking each other on this board bout how super cool awesome it would be if UGA wore black. Its just silly.

MAYBE I could see it if we were undeafeated or getting ready to clinch the east...y'know...actually accomplish something. But having a big hyped up black out after losing to bad SC and FL teams.....and needing Missou to lose to even win our own division...is just embarrassing.

We need a little more Shawn Williams and a little less Jerry Glanville.

Exactly! frick these college kids. No fun for them. They lost two games they shouldn't have lost so they don't rate black jerseys. I'm super close to not letting them have their orange slices at halftime either. That'll teach 'em.

There's a name I haven't heard in awhile. Maybe the Dawgs could wear black and CMR could rock a cowboy hat and boots.

Learning that most rewards come after meeting goals is a valuable lesson in life.

The whole "give it to me cause I want it and it's fun" thing ends at about age 9.

Plus the whole "do it for the kids" thing is bullshite. It's a a portion of the fanbase trying to create a "moment" or something....or recreate the Auburn game...

...hell I don't know why this always comes up.

I'm pro-Blackout for the simple reason that it's a great way to keep the crowd involved. Look at any given night game in Baton Rouge. Until we can muster that kind of reaction for EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. GAME, then it's whatever it takes.

The fact that black jersey, silver britches and red helmet is the most badass combo in CFB is icing to me.

And now we've come full circle...where we're relying on our game day fashion to keep the crowd involved. Which is gay.

This is a slippery slope...

You are also one of the hardcore Pussification of America people that think Chubb should start over Gurley to reward him........

Well, let's get rid of giving away shakers, ban the band and cheerleaders, don't show the pregame video, don't have an in game announcer, don't play music, don't have a fight song....

I mean, if the fans need that shite to get hyped, and stay involved........

From his post history in the Chubb should start thread:

quote:

Now...before you losers go apeshit...Gurley served his time so I don't have a problem with him starting....but think it would be pretty cool if Chubb got the start to show respect for the work he put in when his team needed him.

You guys do understand the difference between a ceremonial start vs benching Gurley correct?

Because I don't think a lot of folks on this board get that concept.

Edit: also I forget sometimes that theoretical discussions are pointless on this board.

So...Chubb is the equivalent of the fat kid who gets put into the last game so his mom can get a picture? As I see it he's our leading rusher over the last 4 games. Do you not care about production on the field?

Again...you do understand the difference between giving Chubb the start and benching Gurley right?
