“He’s been an NFL coach, I don’t know why he went to college,” Spurrier said Wednesday night. “Maybe he wanted to go back to college or maybe it was just a good opportunity for him. And that is an excellent opportunity for any coach. Georgia always has a whole bunch of good players. They’ve probably been the most consistent team in the East. Well, maybe they haven’t been. Heck, we’ve beat them four out of five years, haven’t we? But overall they’ve probably been one of the best teams on the Eastern side.”

Goddamn I hate that bastard

Aaaaand he still only has 1 eastern title accompanied by a historic beatdown in the title game to show for it.

It's funny really. spurrier says stuff like this and everyone says "omg he's the goat troll! 10/10!" but if richt were to say something like that about missouri for instance, people would say "uhh dude you may beat them but they've still been winning the east more than not recently".

Exactly, WG. Spurrier is pretty clever, and definitely a great coach, but people freak out way too much about stuff he says. It's moderately clever, but not like he's the only one who could come up with that. Most coaches just opt not to say that stuff. Doesn't make him the devil, but it doesn't make him a comedic genius either.

Exactly.

Let's take it a step further. Say we had beaten bama in 12. That would make us winning 4 of the last 5. Richt, technically, could make some sort of jab about us owning bama in his tenure and he would factually be correct. But anyone with a brain would be like "hey idiot, they've won like 10 national titles, what have you won?"

Same with spurrier. Ok, they beat us some, good for them. What do they have to show for it? We have accomplished more in the last 10 years than they have in their entire history.

He should probably worry about his own program, but hey, what do I know?

It is definitely going to weird when he is gone. The dude ruined my first college football game by beating the shite out of us 52-17, but I can honestly say that I will miss him and all of his arrogant bullshite.

He beats Georgia, then he takes a nap until Clemson shows up.

You can always count on him derping somewhere in between.

He's becoming a caricature of himself.

How is it Stockholm syndrome? He keeps the pot stirred during the season and the off-season. He's a coach I love to hate. It makes beating him that much sweeter. I don't give a shite about Saban. All he does is yell at his own fans and media.

Seems pretty pro-UGA to me.

About as pro-UGA as you can expect from him.

Probably just pumping up his own team cause they beat us

I won't miss him. He's an arrogant bitter pr*ck who can dish it out with a scoop but can't take it in the slightest.

How anyone can find his conduct admirable is beyond me. A 60 something year old spoiled brat. great.

pretty easy to see really. Instead of expressing positive feelings towards captors though, with some of our fans it's expressing positive feelings (even an admission of sorrow when he's gone!) towards a person who has probably been the biggest thorn in our side for over 2 decades.

And? Finebaum does the same thing, you gonna miss him?

And when he's gone we'll beat them more often, seems like most wouldn't really miss it much.

Spurrier has been on the mantra, Georgia underachieves, for a long time. Nothing new here.

You obviously misunderstand my feelings. College football is better when all of our rivals are at the top of their game and we beat them. Which feels better? To beat Tech, Auburn, and Florida when we crash all of their dreams and their only loss or if they are all on probation and all having losing seasons?

I must have missed a hell of a hire. Who is he coaching now?

And it won't feel nearly as sweet.
