So we hire someone that takes a team thats loaded with talent, coming off two National Championships, and goes Super Regional, Regional, no postseason, Super Regional, and is middle of the pack this year in the SEC?
Stricklin went to a CWS.
What winning South Carolina does is almost in spite of Holbrook, not because of him.

Dawgs lose 9-7 to Clemson. Season sweep for the Tigers. 2nd year in a row.

Dawgs dropped 2 out of 3 to Vandy this weekend. At least Strick got his first ever win against Vandy, so there's that.

7-5 Dawgs over tech. Frustrating year but nice to be 2-0 vs those guys.

We could go winless for every other game of the year and I would still be happy sweeping the nerds. frick them

Up 4-3 with 1 out in the 9th we give up 1 hit, walk 5 and have a passed ball to give up 3 runs. Do nothing bottom of 9 and lose 6-4 to Florida.
With 2 guys on and 2 out we had a 2-2 count on their hitter and couldn't throw a strike to end it.

Well Cairnes, Ryder, and tucker all hurt (becaus of course they are) so it wasn't any of them

When Stricklin is fired, I'm kind of hoping we go the Florida route and hire a head guy that coaches pitchers. I am so fricking sick of having 1 decent starter and a garbage bullpen and midweek guys. Absolutely nothing in the way of defense on this team, in the field or onbthe mound

UTk has passed us in the standings, we're now sitting at 13th and I'd say our remaining schedule is more difficult than theirs.

UF completes the sweep with a 4-3 win. Chances of making the tournament getting slimmer.

We're not making any tournament, conference or otherwise

The guys at Rivals, who have said for the past month that they were pretty certain CSS would be gone, are now saying they think CSS will be retained and just forced to change the rest of his staff. 4 straight losing seasons with no signs of improvement is enough for a 5th year apparently.

Sounds like a sound McGarity strategy: have a HC going on 4 straight losing seasons clean house and hire a whole new staff for year 5. I'm sure any assistant worth a shite is just going to be falling all over themselves to come to Athens and work for that leadership. Good thing we don't need a miracle worker to fix our pitching situation or anyone with a brain to coach up our batting approach or fielding ability (or lack thereof). I'm sure the current state of things can attract the best of the best to make up for whatever our HC is lacking.

I'm throughly enjoying the title of this thread right now.
