Are we going to win a conference series this season?

If it means that we fire Stricklin, I hope we do not win a single conference game period this season.

Locey actually had a great day today, now 2-1 for him on the season. Starting pitching is starting to come around. Problem is, nothing we fce is going to compare to the bansaw that is the likes of LSU, Vandy, UF, and USCe

Also worth noting that Will Campbell has been out of the lineup the past 2 games. Could've very well been the difference for us last night

I actually think this team is going to shock some people and win some games that it shouldnt in SEC play.

We have a ton of freshmen with talent, and there's going to be nights that they put it all together, and we are going to look good.

There's also going to be nights where we play well, and Stricklin screws us over with some bonehead decisions.

Then there is going to be nights where we just get shite on.

A good coach is going to have this team in the right spot in a year or two.

I mean this team hasn't looked lost since the first 2 games against CofC. Every loss since than has been by 1 run; that's 4 games that a more veteran team probably finds a way to win (or in the case of a few of them, to not lose).

Unfortunately, I think it takes another coach to get all that can be gotten out of this team (and make no mistake there is some good talent here) so I'm not making any big pronouncements on postseason play. But I do at least feel oddly better watching this squad play than I did the past 3 years; there is a much higher and more evident ceiling with this group than with anything else Stricklin has put on the field.

ETA: guess this is what happened

T3| After a single, Blazer runner Stephen Dobbs called for interference on a takeout slide at second base. It's a double play for the Dawgs.

Imo this team should be at least 7-3 or 6-4

Could very easily have a winning record at this point; like I said before, 4 losses so far by 1 run (two of them walk offs while on the road). Got two series wins under our belt which is something.

Have a chance with Spring Break this week to get back into the win column in a big way with a 7 game home stretch that includes Xavier (4-6), Rider (1-4), Mercer (8-3), and Presbyterian (6-6).

Best case scenario is we're 12-6 heading into the SEC slate at LSU. Need Will Campbell back; offense needs a boost and he's the most likely to provide it.

People are getting a little too optimistic around here, I'd like to fix that. We are currently last in the SEC in the following categories at the plate:

Batting Average
Slugging Percentage
On-Base Percentage
Runs scored (Tennessee has scored 34 more runs than we have, in two fewer games)
Plate appearances
Hits
Doubles
Triples
RBIs
Total bases

Not much better on the mound:

13th in ERA
10th in opponent's batting average
12th in strikeouts
10th in runs allowed
7th in hits allowed
13th in earned runs allowed
13th in home runs allowed
3rd most wild pitches
4th most hit batters
